      1. I think we all know masking can help.  So, mask up in large quarters, too — there can be COVID at COSTCO, Coronavirus at KOHLS, a Malady at Macy's, s super-bug at King Soopers, sickness at Safeway.  well, you get the idea.

Your mask helps protect others if you have a "mild" or asymptomatic case.

Your mask helps you by filtering at least some of the air you are breathing in.

vaccines limit severe illness and death — not all disease.

        1. All good points.  I actually use avoidance as my main defense.  I go shopping in big, well ventilated stores when they are least busy (early mornings, typically), and limit my shopping to 10 minutes or less.

I avoid small group meetings that drone on with speaker after speaker (I’m on a few different boards), preferring zoom whenever possible, KN95 mask if not.

And of course, I’ve had the full series of vaccinations, and looking forward to the nextgen vaccine in the Fall

But I’m fortunate to have that luxury.  Your advice is well-grounded in the realities of the day.

    1. Still, I find Fisher's approach ( via the Denver Dept of Housing Stability) of "Housing First" as the most sensible approach I've seen in years.

Beats Mike Coffman's " Round em up and send em anywhere else but Aurora" approach.

Beats the " intractable mental illness and substance abuse so "shrug" approach.

Beats the "Let them take over every vacant storefront" approach.

Beats the " Give them a bed for the night and preach at them" approach.

I just applied for a Section 8 housing voucher yesterday. My chances of "winning" – approximately one in 3,500.

  1. I don't think the "I'm her lawyer and I'm really bad at my job" defense will work a second time:

@Marshall9News · 8m NEW: Arrest warrant issued for Tina Peters for violation of a protection order & bond conditions. She's barred from contacting the Mesa County clerk's office, but emailed the election director about a hand recount of her lost primary.

  2. Bad news for the wingnuts in Nevada

We’ve officially qualified our ballot measure for open primaries and a final five ranked choice general election. This was not easy. Our opponents spent over a million dollars to block us from qualifying. But it has been certified by the Secretary of State, and will be on the ballot this November.

“We’re ecstatic to not only have the ballot initiative verified, but the voice of Nevadans validated,” said Joe Brezny, campaign manager for Nevada Voters First. “While there’s been opposition and challenges in court, every signature verified is a Nevadan’s voice who wants to change our antiquated election system.”

  3. American Muckrakers shared today :

"UPDATE:  The poorly written and bizarre legal filing by Lauren Boebert against our PAC was dismissed by a Judge in Colorado for lack of prosecution.  Her lawyers couldn't even be bothered to serve us the legal filing.  The Judge dismissed for lack of prosecution and closed the case.

What a colossal waste of the Court's and our time.

However, Boebert is going to regret ever filing anything.  We are in the process of reviewing our options for wrongful prosecution and will update you when we make a move.

The other good news is that four of six sources are willing to come forward to confirm their allegations against Boebert.  The plan is they will come forward in September or October for a full live press conference. We are planning this event now and need your help to cover the costs of the venue, security for our sources, travel for our sources, legal advice, and video production. "

  4. With American Muckrakers & Boebert: put up or shut up. The promise’’ of real live sources tied to a fundraising appeal doesn’t inspire confidence.

Will the MAGAts care in either case?

    1. Who else is trying?  An ex AF intel officer who was a NC state rep or senator is trying to take out the Rthugs best they can.  He/they are appealing to courts and congressional ethics in the latest efforts. Have you ever supported them? I don't see any homegrown CO effort besides some of voting in primary against her.
