Iowa Results Begin Candidate Shakeup

  • by: Colorado Pols

After poor showings in Iowa last night, Republican Presidential candidates are taking a new look at their future fortunes.

Rep. Michele Bachmann announced today that she is dropping out of the race after a 6th place finish in Iowa.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, meanwhile, is returning to Texas rather than heading to South Carolina to “reassess” his Presidential bid after a 5th place finish last night.

    1. Like Palin before her, having a wacko VP candidate with zero credibility or  executive/people skills (burning her staffers all the time) would excite only the base, while scaring the willies out of rational voters.

The real threat of a VP candidate would be Eric Cantor.  He’s actually smart enough to be credible to much of the GOP, moderates probably included.  Of course, Romney would always have to watch his back if elected.

    2. Romney’s VP will be Marcia Blackburn, Tennessee congresswoman, pitbull with a Chamber of Commerce smile.  Ultra-conservative, Southern, woman, attractive, articulate and will attack Obama relentlessly.

      This ticket scares me.

        1. (other than me, of course) has mentioned her?

I know she’s a Romney supporter because I’ve seen video of her campaigning with him.

(Sorry for the double post below.)

  1. CNN is reporting he’s going to South Carolina.  Apparently he still has money to spend.  Maybe he thinks staying in for at least one more contest will buy him something for the future.

        1. one is to stop the embarrasing freak show and blodletting within the GOP, and the other is a huge resistance by the hardcores to having the ever-so-wobbly Mittens jammed down their throats.

Should be great for the party.  Democratic party, that is.

          1. Nothing but let’s all hold hands and sing bipartisan songs Obama and his veto power to stand between us and an all R majority congress is a very depressing prospect.

    1. as the Dan Quale endorsement last month.  One or two more like these and it’s going to start looking like Mitt will just about have Arizona firmly in hand?
