Rick Perry will be here next week, and like the proverbial mosquito at a nudist colony, I don’t quite know where to start. There’s the godawful assault on choice and women’s health, the environmental destruction, the crony capitalism, the dismantling of social services to at-risk kids – I could go on.
And all the while he’s complaining about Washington, Rick Perry is happy to cash their checks. I’ve just posted my regular US News column on the fact that Perry’s home county, Haskell County, got $232 million in federal farm subsidies from 1996-2010, including $80,000 to Perry himself.
