Shades of safer … The Colorado Sun has At least 70% of residents in 12 Colorado counties — including Denver, Boulder and Jefferson — are vaccinated
What color is your county? Here’s the webpage link to get to the CDPHE data:
We have two wonderful hospitals (Wray, Yuma) in Yuma County (pop. 10,000). On a per capita basis we’re a health care utopia. Sixty percent of our population live within a 10 minute drive from one of those facilities. Being at 40% is a friggin’ embarrassment.
Fremont is at only 36.4% – unbelievably bad. There are only a few counties lower than this and they're all MUCH smaller and less dense than Fremont. Compare to a county like Summit which is at 80.7% and has a population of around 30,000.
Mesa County, 38% and now a hotbed of the Delta Variant from India. If I didn't like the territory around here I'd be long gone.
The Delta variant poses a risk to even those of us that are vaccinated. <sigh>
But the vaccines are still the best defense against the variants.
WSJ says that Segwick County has the highest per capita Covid death toll in the last week. In the USA, not just in Colorado.
The entire population of Sedgwick County (2,322) could have been vaccinated by the Colorado National Guard in one day (including the jihadists) with time left for Happy Hour at the Julesburg Tavern.
Long article about Qbert

Where Voters Are Losing Patience With Lauren Boebert
Swing voters in Pueblo, Colorado’s “Steel City,” say they are getting frustrated with a U.S. representative they see as more focused on her own celebrity than her constituents.
Somebody page Fluffy. He knows-somebody-who-knows-somebody who has a key.
Great article. Maybe Pueblo can play a big part in ending this embarrassing grift.
Boebert or Fluffy? Maybe we can get a two-fer on this one?
All for it ! Fluffy could then spend more time blessing us here with his awesome political forecasts.
And fate will then show that every day nutlid posts his awesome political forecasts is opposite day.
So, Boring Boebert is more focused on her own celebrity than her constituents? Knock me over with a feather.
V's parakeet is waaaaaaayyyyy smarter and more exciting than her.
It’s about name recognition and breaking through to low-info voters. This is not easy given our big-screen, TV-addicted culture. Saying the stupidist things doesn’t matter if they remember your name.
I’ll bet Boebert has far higher name recognition, than the Democrat running against her. I think there is more than one, but I can’t quite remember. See, even for a high-info voter like me, name recognition is hard.
@P.H.: I think there are 8 or 9 Dems running for the primary next year. I just mailed off a contribution to Kerry Donovan. One of her grandfathers, the late Bill Mounsey, was an old time, classic, Colorado Republican; and a strong conservationist.
Unless a decent Republican decides to run against Boebert; like maybe Russ George; my funds will continue to go to Donovan. Not much this year, but I’ll pick it up a bit in 2022.
Of course all of us here at Pols knows Pew Pew is in way over her head, and she's a mighty good source of entertainment. The good news is that a lot of people in her district are starting to figure that out as well.
Prancing around with your gun and screaming no to everything on Fox news isn't getting anything done for Pueblo. I hope Kerry Donovan really takes advantage of this and asks the question " what has Lauren Boebert done for CD3 ? " every time she speaks.

Colorado Leg passes plastic bag ban
Starting in 2022, most restaurants and grocery stores will charge a fee for plastic one time use bags. There are some exceptions allowed.
Get in the habit of "BYOB" (Bring your own bags)
I saw. Good. We've had a bag pod with 10 grocery-size parachute nylon bags that lives in our car for several years. And I've had a clever little bag that folds into itself for quick trips around the neighborhood hanging right by the front door for a couple of years. Bring on the ban. I'll be so glad to see the end of styro- anything.
The only issue I see is that I have relied on Insta-cart for grocery delivery since the pandemic hit.
It’s not practical for them to use
Reusable bags. But paying a dime a bag for a dozen bags is no deal breaker since insta cart already costs me $20-$30 a trip, including tip, on a typical order of $200.
