    1. Good morning, indeed.

Anyone think that Cole Wist signing on A Call for American Renewal somehow makes the movement more likely to have an impact on the Colorado GOP?  Anyone know if there is some sort of nascent grouping likely to respond to A Call???

Thus, when in our democratic republic, forces of conspiracy, division, and despotism arise, it is the patriotic duty of citizens to act collectively in defense of liberty and justice. We, therefore, declare our intent to catalyze an American renewal, and to either reimagine a party dedicated to our founding ideals or else hasten the creation of such an alternative.

  1. Just in case your interested….

  2. Today's Republicans have learned an important lesson — lie your ass off and your base will love you.

“It’s like a perpetual motion machine — you create the fear of fraud out of vapors and then cut down on people’s votes because of the fog you’ve created,” said Michael Waldman, the president of the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University. “Politicians, for partisan purposes, lied to supporters about widespread fraud. The supporters believe the lies, and then that belief creates this rationale for the politicians to say, ‘Well, I know it’s not really true, but look how worried everybody is.’”

The next time Republicans gain control of the federal government, they will no doubt do anything they can to dispense with the problem they face — democracy (Demonocracy?).  Trump only failed because he was incompetent.  The next Republican strong man won't be…

    1. I read an article earlier this month (can’t remember who or where) the gist of which was that GOPers are not embracing lying out of any cowardice or “fear” of Ttump. (They’re not the victims of a Ttumpian bully.)

They’re embracing lying because they’ve been taught (and Ttump has clearly demonstrated) that not only is there no penalty for lying, lying is the their only path to power given their minority status and their policies without basis in truth (i.e., fact, science, or reality). They simply cannot be even a little bit honest about hardly anything any longer and hope to continue to attract enough voters to still pursue their policy agenda.

Lying is now their sole remaining political strategery . . .

      1. Exhibit A: Qevin McQarthy (forgetting his bff Adderall junkie had 'executive time' scheduled every day until noon). MyKevin™, a profile in cowardice, has been reduced to criticizing President Biden for going to bed at night.

        1. would've been nice if trump slept more, but a dozen diet cokes and adderall is not going to give you a restful night.  We can only hope that he will soon sleep well and forever

        2. This is like the photo-op of Trump signing his own name at a desk Walter Reed when he had Covid.  Ivanka – " Look, he's still working for the American people…he's relentless ! "  Those of us not drinking the coolaid and engaging in the hero worship know Trump is lazy as shit and couldn't be bothered to actually do his job as President. Such a pathetic show.

  3. So did you hear the one about the Trumper-acolyte suspected of murdering his wife taking the time and care to cast an extra ballot on her behalf 5 months after her disappearance because "Trump could use the extra vote"?

HUSBAND FILLED OUT MISSING WIFE’S BALLOT

The husband of missing Chaffee County resident Suzanne Morphew is accused of filing a fraudulent 2020 election ballot in his wife’s name because he thought Donald Trump could use the extra vote since others were cheating.

Barry Morphew, 53, on Thursday was charged with one count of forgery and one count of a mail ballot offense in connection with his missing wife’s ballot, according to an arrest warrant from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 5, Barry Morphew was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder for his wife’s disappearance. Suzanne Morphew was reported missing on May 10, 2020, by a neighbor who said she never came home from a bike ride.

The Chafee County Clerk Lori Mitchell called the sheriff’s office on Oct. 22 after her office received Suzanne Morphew’s mail-in ballot, the arrest warrant said.

An FBI agent confronted Morphew about the ballot in April, and he told the agent that he had filled out his missing wife’s form, “Just because I wanted Trump to win.”

Morphew is being held without bond in the Chaffee County jail. — Noelle Phillips, The Denver Post

    1. Has anyone ever seen or heard a Republican politician acknowledge that almost all of the documented voter fraud has been Republicans voting for Republicans?

They keep this talking point alive, but never cite any actual cases, because the actual voter fraudsters are all their own base.

  4. One of the best movies I have ever watched – 3 Idiots. It’s long and you have to give it time. It starts off as a Hindi “Animal House” but boy does it grow.

And the lead actor is amazing. All the actors are great – they are their characters. But the lead is a force of nature.

And if you like it, Queen is another amazing Bollywood film. I think the best I’ve seen of a woman finding herself.

    1. David: do a browser and/or YouTube inquiry for "The Party," a 1968 film by Blake Edwards. It stars the late & great Peter Sellers as a bumbling actor from India who accidentally gets an invitation to a lavish Hollywood party. I won't give anything away, but I've never laughed harder at any movie then or since.

Oh, and the movie score is by Henry Mancini.

  5. Ben Kuck isn't happy.

Space Force commander removed after comments on podcast

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) called the removal “outrageous":

It’s outrageous that Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was removed from his command in the Space Force for voicing concerns that the U.S. military is promoting Marxist ideologies. https://t.co/U57u2zAwVk

    — Rep. Ken Buck (@RepKenBuck) May 16, 2021

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) also called Lohmeier a "Patriot" and said his demotion was "clearly retaliatory."

Gaetz also said he “will be seeking action on this in the Armed Services Committee."

    1. Whew!  The US Military infiltrated by commies!  I recall a documentary made almost 60 years ago about a genius named Dr. Strangelove.  One of the interviewees had these prescient thoughts on the matter:

General Jack D. Ripper : He said war was too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, he might have been right. But today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

      1. Even worse.  Infiltrated by diversity conscious critical race theory espousing mask-wearing antifa liberals (which is apparently what Marx had been secretly planning to occur, even more diabolically, 134 years after his death — sneaky damn communist ideologues!) aiming to undermine our great freedom loving anglo-saxon judeo-christian capitalistic military industrial complex, . . . and puppies, and motherhood, and red-white-and-blue apple pie.

Lucky for us, Lohmeier unraveled and exposed Marx’s recently unleashed 150 year-old devious diversity plot, albeit not without incurring a costly huge personal sacrifice — from sea to shining sea and the home of the brave . . .

        . . . Plaaaaay ball!!!
