Help Restock the Cabinet

  • by: pay your taxes!

Over the weekend it was reported by KDVR’s Eli Stokols that three  members of mayoral candidate Chris Romer’s closest advisers decided to withdraw their support over the tone the campaign had been taking.

Given that the Romer campaign didn’t send out a blast e-mail about it, it’s not hard to see why it was under-reported. But what if they had? I think it would have gone a little something like this:

Dear _______

We’re 14 days out until ballots are counted in the runoff election. Can you believe we’re almost to the finish line? Neither can Chris.

That’s why we’re writing to you today about some exciting new moves the campaign is making for no reason at all–certainly nothing related to a call from a former Mayor, current Governor.

Three of our “kitchen cabinet” are leaving. Can you donate $5, $10, or even $3,000 today to replenish our shrinking cabinet?

It’s been a long push to the finish, and we know that with your support we’re going to make Chris the next mayor so we can start humbly expecting more from cutting red tape and not engaging in the politics of personal destruction.

Sincerely,

Team Denver

P.S.: Check out the amazing coverage we’ve been getting on teh interwebz!

      1. except that, as of now (and I logged in just a couple of minutes ago) Pols has one up too (which I know you’ve seen). Which is too bad, because yours in more informative. I just don’t like cluttering the FP… maybe I’ll make an exception…

  1. I agree it’s not FP quality, but it’s funny. I’ll throw in a can of beans for his cabinet… Herman Cain will throw in all the Muslims who aren’t allowed in his presidential cabinet.

  2. That’s great news.  Chris Gates sucks.  He treated me like shit when I first met him.  Kept me from being active in the party until he left.

Don’t really know the other guys.
