Grand Calamity

OK–So it’s expanded from a comment.  But I like adventure stories.  And I attached a Poll, urging that you put in the details of the narrative in your comments.  PS-It is time for disclosure…I am Grand Calamity

An adventure story based on a comment at The Hill

BY GRAND CALAMITY on 05/20/2011 at 12:59

Water on the Grand, what you may call the Colorado, is rising quickly.

With their little boats afloat the potential finishers and show offs push out into the surging wave…as the southern guvs wave forlornly from the beach…”Not this time y’alll,” drawls the one. “Gotta get back to the studio,” shrugs the other.

Oh no! Its Lame Stream Rapid!!! Backpaddle, backpaddle! Gregory Hole is sucking in the Professor!

Adventure continues with poll

With as many out as in, our story continues, with the hazardous spring run off beginning…

Painted in lurid colors, the disheveled but somehow likable raftsman of the Huck Finn inspired ‘Who is Ron Paul?’ and his merry band of crazies, floats into the current…

Further downstream Flippy, with his loyal dog Seamus lashed securely to the bow, paddles toward Tea Party Dam, confident in his skills at bi-directional paddling and mandated policies…’life vests boys!’ he calls ‘everyone must be covered!’

Little T-Paw, running down stream, tosses in his toy boat, while the half-term book saleswoman winks from the shore. The unknown godfather wonders why no one sees he crazy skill at the oars, as he spins in a backwater eddy.

Meanwhile the statesman watches from the shore, probably a bit too sensibly, and wonders if he should partake in the fun, after all he reckons himself an able yachtsman…’what if they all sink?’ he wonders…

How will this wacky adventure end?

Well Polsters? What's next? Does it matter?

  1. Newt and (3rd) wife can’t agree how to paddle canoe, so he divorces again.

At end of rapids, Sarah thinks she sees Russia, but ultimately realizes that’s just what she sees when she keeps her head so far up her ass.
