  1. Day three after the J&J vaccine. Both My Cat and I have experienced only the mildest of side effects…the usual stuff.

Had we not been looking for symptoms, we might have overlooked them as symptoms of age.

    Please get vaccinated…please!

    1. My parents got the Pfizer shot and no side effects. My aunt got Moderna with no side effects the first time but had a couple of rough days after the second.

I don’t have mine yet but still have antibodies from the December infection.

      1. Phone booths! Don’t know when I last saw one, or even a public pay phone. ( outside of a correctional facility). Where does Superman change his look these days?

        1. I heard tell that the remaining "common sense Republicans" may have their hands on a couple . . .

. . . for their next national caucus meetings.

  2. Wednesday for me is documentary day.

    Recent recommendations:
    –  Uranium Drive-In (Amazon Prime)

    – The Social Dilemma (Netflix)

    – Electronic Armageddon (National Geographic Explorer – I watched on Amazon)

    – Brave Blue World  / Blue Gold (not actually paired, but I could not watch one without the other)

I am always open to recommendations.

  3. Thank you, Democrats.

(how’s that temper-tantrum working out for ya, Q-bie?)

House clears massive stimulus bill for Biden signature

The Democratic-controlled House gave final congressional approval Wednesday to a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package, setting the stage for many Americans to soon get $1,400 payments.

The American Rescue Plan, which passed the House and Senate without a single Republican vote, is expected to be signed into law by President Joe Biden on Friday.  On Wednesday, the House cleared the final version of the bill, which had been modified by the Senate last week, 220-211.

Remember when the Repubs passed the $2T in Trump Tax *Relief* for Billionaires and Real Estate Developers and they toasted with champagne and caviar at Mar-a-Lago? $2T in Pandemic Relief for most Americans (except 565,000 dead ones) and especially the hardest hit, and they use childish stall tactics (to no avail).

This is what winning looks like.

    1. I am delighted to see Unca Joe kicking ass. He has not succumbed to the insidious influence of people like Larry Summers..

Ron Suskind covered the matter in “Confidence Men…Wall Street, Washington, and the Education of a President”.

President Obama seriously fucked up trusting the counsel of weasels like Summers, Dimon, and those who couldn’t care less about you and me.

It looks like Biden is just hitting his stride. When asked today about what appears to be a surplus of vaccine by years end, he said,” We are going to take care of every American first, then we are going to help the world.”

No doubt a certain group of Republicans will try to weaponize that. SAIEW.😒

  4. I see Chris Cilizza is lamenting that the passing of the Covid Relief bill may be the death of bipartisanship for the Biden Presidency. You gotta be fucking kidding me…

The fact that not one Republican in the House or Senate, NOT ONE, voted for this bill proves that bipartisanship was dead a long time ago.  What the fuck are we so worried about ?  Did we think they were ever going to play nice, or do anything in good faith ?

Biden didn't waste one bit of time taking the bait like Obama did.  Good job.

    1. Polling shows 40% of Republican support the bill. But not in Congress.

      So-

      – Republicans in Congress over represent their voters

      – Republicans in Congress are not as interested in what their voters want as how to politicize everything and oppose Democrats

      – Elected Republicans everywhere are working hard to change the the law so they get to choose their voters, instead of the voters choosing who gets elected.

    2. yes
I don’t know what Congressional GOP members could do to demonstrate that they were really looking to “ reach across the aisle”….maybe not knee-jerk bloc voting against any Democratic law? Not pretending that the FormerGuy actually won the election? Refraining from stupid stalling tactics like reading bills word for word on the floor, and pointless Motions to Adjourn? Demonstrating regard for colleague’s safety, by wearing masks, going through metal detectors, maybe NOT ending promo videos with shotgun-loading sounds?

      1. I have taken to going for the “Who is the POTUS?” question straightaway when I encounter one of “those” people. (oh…wasn’t that fun?)

        Saves a lot of time.
