UPDATE 10:00AM MST:

Reflect with us as four years no American will ever forget come to a close.

Not a moment too soon.

As we reach the final death rattles of this vilest of presidencies, I think it would be extremely remiss not to acknowledge the visionary efforts of the one man who long ago had the foresight to begin the end of this awful disaster . . .

. . . so an undying thank you to Hugo Chavez, wherever he may be!  We all owe you bigly, señor . . .

As the almighty rock bards Europe once saith:

Will things ever be the same again?

A trip down memory lane in these last 24 hours. Lest we forget our friend Moderatus, a once-loyal #NeverTrumper (until he experienced the intoxicating effects of the cult’s mother’s milk).

Caution: It will scare you shitless

And counting down to the end of the worst First Lady ever: Laura Benanti did a great job over the past four years portraying Melania on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Here's Benanti's parting shot.

I'm going to use Auckland, New Zealand as my clock where it's already Wednesday, January 20, 2021!!  (I would have considered moving to NZ if Trump had won.)

Sadly some 74 million voters will remember these as the good old days. We've got a lot of work to do in a short two years if we're going to prove them wrong.

You can't push on a rope.

We survived (grudgingly and with utter dread) the past four years. They will survive the next four and if they have any capability to honestly reflect on their experience they may just realize that they have prospered in many ways.

Their own experience is the best persuasion that anyone can muster.

        Nope.
I remember well in 2009 and again 2013 when President Obama took all my guns.

        And opened borders.

Was not in the oval office on 9/11.

Golfed more than any president ever.

Spent $10million per day to go to India.

        Was not born in America.

Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.

Maybe in the past there were differences in opinion we had with those who will view the Trump presidency as the good old days, but they are now living completely in an alternate reality.  There is no reasoning with them, so they just have to be defeated over and over because reuniting with them is just not in the cards.

I really can't muster any sympathy for these batshit crazy lunatics anyway who complain that America has forgotten them on one hand, then they resort to violent, mindless mob mentality on the other.

Thanks, Pols, for the countdown clock. In my entire life (and I'm old enough to get a COVID shot) I've never needed to count down the minutes to the next administration the way I do now.

Just short of a year ago John Dingell shared these parting words.  It’s a good read on this eve of tomorrow’s transition of power:

John Dingell: My last words for America

One of $rump’s sycophants is missing from the rogue’s gallery; but here you are.

  11. kwtree says:

In case you cared what $rump did with his day- apparently, settling in at Mar a Lago, where his neighbors don’t want him, his wife won’t sleep with him, and he has nothing but legal troubles to prep for.

    😆
