The Colorado Statesman reports on a Monday Republican meeting in Northglenn where two of the candidates for GOP State Chair — Ryan Call and Leondray Gholston — pitched their candidacies to the faithful masses. Two of the other candidates for GOP Chair, Ted Harvey and Bart Baron, were not in attendance, but Gholston had plenty of crazy for everyone:
In closing, Gholston painted a dire picture of the possible outcomes of the next election.
“Now we’re at a crucial juncture in this party,” he said. “We really do have a choice, not only in this party but in America. Where are we going to go? What are we going to become? Do we stay a constitutional, federal republic, or do we become something else? Do we keep elected officials or do we have de facto dictators? The Republican Party has to stand up for these things.” [Pols emphasis]
Are we going to remain a Democracy? Will we create a Monarchy? Will we forego all elections for one national game of bingo?
Will we fight the dragons when they come down from their mountains to feast on the peasants below? Will we try to find new sources of food and fuel by combining a cow with a corn stalk to create Biocowfuel?
The Republican Party has to stand up for these things, you know.
