This week on The Get More Smarter Podcast, hosts Jason Bane and Ian Silverii talk with the “Dean of the Delegation,” Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-Denver), who is about to become the longest-serving federal officeholder in Colorado history. DeGette discusses the craziest election year ever and the curious candidacy of Lauren “Q*Bert” Boebert in CO-03. She also gives us the lowdown on just how close we may be getting to a #COVID-19 vaccine.

She needs to make this her last term and give it for an Xer or Millennial.

Ain't gonna happen … DeGette is close to being a part of the House Majority leadership team, focusing on the caucus policy priorities in the role of Majority Whip.

Pelosi just announce she's going to run for another term as Speaker … but I'd guess the transition would happen at or before the next session of Congress begins in 2023.  Pelosi, Hoyer,

      • RepealAndReplace says:

That's right …. the octogenarians (Pelosi, Hoyer, Clyburn) will be retiring at the end of 2022 and will be replaced by a team of spry and youthful sexagenarians like DeGette!

Pols, that’s a great interview you did with Rep. Degette. I actually do feel more smarter for listening to it.

I heard on the podcast that you will have some kind of election watch party, but I don’t see the link on the getmoresmarter.com page.
Some of  us were going to have a virtual election watch party hosted by notaskinnycook, but probably don’t want to duplicate. Will yours be interactive, or pretty much just listening to Jason and Ian react to the returns as they come in?
