  1. If ever the GOP had a soul, it has been pawned to satisfy their lust for power.

What is news is the extent to which the Republican Party has embraced the trappings of its leader, which is to say, the trappings of a right-wing cable news network: a nonstop parade of conspiracy, demagoguery and grievance, in service to a cult of personality, all for the sake of a politics of plunder, theft and extraction.

Should [Trump] win a second term, we’ll see more of the same: an administration that pursues as much of the party’s agenda — redistribution to the wealthy, deep reductions in the state’s ability to solve problems for the general welfare — as possible, and a Republican Party that looks the other way as Trump turns the federal government into a patronage machine for himself, his family and his allies.

  2. Sixty eight  more days of crap ’til Trump’s fall

    Ousting the doofus without peer.

We’ll also dump Pence, his minion, and hence

Decent people throughout the world will cheer.

      1. The challenge of writing 100 variants of 99 bottles of beer without too much repetition is truly daunting, Duke.

The format is an odd one:

Da da da da da da da da da da

Da da da da da da da

Da da da da da da da da

Da da da da da da da da da da

Thats 10 feet, seven feet eight feet ten feet

        Rhyme

        B

        C  C

        A

No wonder I veer off sometimes to 76 Trombones or other, more flexible formats.

But in the fight between poetry and fascism, poetry is winning, and that is worth cheering about!
