The primary election is over. In just four months, the chance we’ve waited for ever since the disaster of the 2016 presidential election to restore America’s credibility and leadership in the world will finally be here. The polls show that Donald Trump and his party are in serious trouble.
But we can’t get complacent now. Help us take the fight to the right between now and November with your donation to ProgressNow Colorado.
Today, the Washington Post reports that the Trump administration’s strategy now is to “hope Americans will grow numb to the escalating death toll” from the COVID-19 pandemic “and learn to accept tens of thousands of new cases a day.” [1] Trump’s failure to protect Americans from this deadly pandemic, which has now killed and sickened more Americans than any other nation on Earth, is a tragedy that simply losing an election cannot repay.
The incompetence of the Trump administration in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has proven that the American conservative movement cannot be trusted with power. This is a movement dependent on ignorance and fear in order to survive. Trump and his party incite division and hatred between Americans for political gain, and if we don’t stop them in 2020 we may not recognize what America looks like when they are done.
We’re ready to stop them in Colorado. After the 2018 “blue wave” election wiped out the right in our state, they came back with attempts at recalls and an unprecedented legislative obstruction campaign. With your help, we beat back every one of their attacks and passed crucial legislation to help working families, defend the environment, and protect public health.
Get in this fight with your donation to ProgressNow Colorado. There’s no better investment you can make to fight back for our shared values, and now is the moment it counts most.
