Maybe Ed should have dumped the rest of his “Perlmutter for Change” signs.
His opponent, Republican Ryan Frazier, is a conservative whose votes may not end up reflecting the district’s blend of ideological diversity either, but we think it’s time for new blood in Congress.
If this race is as competitive as it is, how bad are things (justifiably) going to really be for Dems in November?

First they pointed out that Frazier would probably be as ideologically biased as a conservative as Perlmutter was for the Dems. Then the Post hinted that Frazier’s company was a tad shady – disconnected phone numbers, never returning phone calls once a working number was established.
That was the most backhanded endorsement I’ve ever seen.
The Dems got their Hope and Change in 2008. Now that Americans have seen exactly what that Change is………the Dems are going to feel the change brought about by election losses.
It’s always about the economy.
The economy sucks.
While most people still blame the Republicans, they still want change because they want the pain to stop.
Many will vote R for that and no other reason.

What we got were several Dems in name only who stood with archaic Republicans to block everything we wanted. Change is coming, Lawman. We need to be tougher this time.
So the Post endorses Ryan “No Show” Frazier. Guess that’s one way to get smaller government — elect guys that don’t bother to show up for the sessions.
Heck, he can’t even be bothered to take care of his own company’s business.
Maybe, like Dan Maes, he’s on an undercover mission, so doesn’t have time to handle his day job.
Ed Perlmutter has delivered for his district better than any member of congress that I can remember.
Perhaps I am biased, as he is my Congressman. I don’t think so.
The VA at Fitzsimmons has produced more jobs and rise in property values than anything else going on in Aurora.
Seriously – did the Daily Prophet piss off enough Repubs that they had to do something like this?
It would be a pretty devastating loss for CD7 if Frazier gets elect. Ed is an approachable, funny guy who always returns my calls on Vets stuff, even though I live in another district.
He’s built up some connections not related to “Pelosi and her cronies” and I do think he’s the least partisan Dem other than Polis.
Ryan (A Navy Vet, but I won’t hold it against him) seemed like a nice guy when I chatted with him at the UVC forum, but he NEVER articulated a single Vet issue, either in the meet ‘n greet or on stage. Ed went to bat for vets right away, and he’s one of the most popular reps with the Vets on UVC.
I suspect they believe in the Democratic platform but have to fabricate conservative endorsements to appease their aging readership. Does anyone under 50 still read newspapers?
The Post has been on an anti-labor crusade for years now; Singleton hates unions with such a passion that anyone openly in favor of labor protections (and Perlmutter has been pretty good on labor IIRC) is instantly on the outs with the Post leadership.
Perlmutter has represented the district for how long now? 2 terms. The Post’s “time for a change” is a blatantly transparent cover for “we don’t think Frasier is great, but he’s a Republican who won’t support labor, so he gets the nod.”

I still think this is going to be the closest Colorado congressional election this cycle. But at this time none of the experts seem to share that view.
only in cd 4 did they field a quality challenger, Cory Gardner.
Frazier is a lightweight at best, and a laughing stock on the Aurora City Council.
Tipton is a bit better, but already lost big time to Salazar once and voters aren’t much impressed by do-overs.
And looking at Buck’s huge “woman problem” it seems obvious that Norton would be killing Bennet, while as it is, that race goes to the wire.
On legislative races, the loss of opportunity is even greater. Criminal records are not a good thing for candidates.
Thus, the Rs are likely to see a legislature Democrat in both houyses and a D governor. If cory does win CD-4, he will have an interesting time holding it after the 2012 Gerrymander.
Republicans may be kicking themselves in November thinking about all of the races they could have — and probably should have — won but didn’t because of poor candidates.
