Tom Tancredo is on 630 KHOW with Dan Caplis and Craig Silverman.
They haven’t asked how much money he’s raised. That’s the big question.
My notes, so far. Not everything is a direct quote.
I am the best option we have. l believe Dan Maes cannot win this race.
I really do want more than anything in the world to have a good solid candidate facing Hickenloooper.
Heard that on Thursday there was a discussion between Dan and Dick about what is necessary to win the race.
I do want to have a good solid candidate and a conservative win this race.
Craig: I think you’ve been punked by Dick Wadhams.
Tom: I think Dick has the same concerns about Dan that I do.
If Dan agreed to his proposal, I’d take it.
It doesn’t look like it is going to happen.
Heard that Dick and Dan had a very candid conversation about what he had to do to win. The money that had to be raised, the staff needed and the fact that the RGA is not going to play in this state.
I said that it had to be made public.
If Dan accepts is that he wants some input as to who the party would put in place. We discussed some names.
Came close.
He suggested Ted Harvey. He thought it was a fine idea.
I believe he would be a great governor. I talked to Ted about it.
If Dan were to provide some wiggle room, other high ranking proposals would weigh in.
Tambor Williams would not be acceptable to Tancredo.
We’re still in the process. Still talking about it. No deadline. Campbell is the nominee. May select someone else. He’s ok with that. We have until about the 24th. That is not a done deal.

Tambor Williams would not be acceptable to Tancredo as a replacement candidate for governor.

No other names of potential replacement candidates discussed with Tancredo.
Dick Wadhams said he had gotten a call from a businessman who was fed up and willing to run. Didn’t say who.
I don’t blame Dick Wadhams a bit for the way he presented the proposal. Wadhams can’t say he wants Maes out of the race.
There is no game playing here. I know this is going to be difficult. If I felt good about Dan Maes’ candidacy, I would not be here. I have a great, great love of this state. This is the only way I can deal with it.
He wouldn’t choose between Maes and Hick. He will be the other choice.
Asked about Rasmussen poll.
Wished it had been the other way around. Raising money. Can run a credible campaign.
Legislators inside the Republican Party. They wish there was an alternative, also.
I can get so excited about being governor that you cannot believe it.
So much has happened every day.
It seems like every day is a roller coaster. It’s hard for me. I wish it was not this way.
I believe that I can be a credible candidate. I believe that I can raise enough money and that in a three way race I can win. I am going to run as hard as I can because I am convinced that is the thing to do.
Deadline is Aug. 24 when ballots are printed.
Dan still has a choice.
Tancredo will discuss concerns about Tambor Williams next time he’s on the show.
End.
