“Only a small rich fringe hates Social Security for disincentivizing 80-year-olds from seeking full-time employment.”

Iran now says airliner crashed due to "engine failure" caused by a missile hitting the engine.
All Governments Lie
I think, technically, that gravity was what caused the plane to crash . . .
. . . gravity and “bad neighborhoods” . . .
. . . so, it’s really nobody’s fault???
Seem the official explanation isn't becoming a whitewash. The Guardian:
And from Twitter,
Who was onboard?
Were they named int he Panama Papers?
Did they have a US security clearance?
Who benefits from anyone onboard not being around?
There's slightly more to it now:
"Mistakenly thought the plane was a cruise missile"?
Well, that reveals how well trained the Republican Guard is — sorta like the Republicans in the U.S.
Hey, remember the US Navy's 1988 debacle.
Yes.
This isn't that.
This time lots of people knew it was a missile at the time.
US technology could definitely detect a missile launch. And there are several regional allies who have that capability.
Sure- it may not matter that there were other failed attempts, namely in Yemen.
It may not matter that Israel was notified before the US Congress.
Who was on board?
The carrier group the Vincennes was with was operating in 20% of its prescribed deployment space given the confines of the Gulf (50 miles rather than 250). An accident like that was a foregone conclusion. Can't quite say the same for ground-based detection systems regardless of whose they are.
That said, there's still not much excuse for mistaking a passenger aircraft for a cruise missile, esp. given the advancements in technology since the downings of the 1980s.
Besides the White House fact checker, guess what the easiest job is in the Trump administration?
Ivanka Trump's portfolio includes a few key components: women's economic empowerment and working family issues, workforce development and promoting STEM education and combating human trafficking. ( Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner use personal email for government business. )
~ Neil Peart (1977)
Happy trails, fare thee well and RIP, Professor.
I noticed the NFL sound technicians were playing numerous cuts from Rush during yesterdays' games.
Neil was always inspiring. One of the greatest of all time. Will miss his genious.
THANK YOU!!!! God, Neil and Rush were such immense talents. This one hurts. RIP, Pratt!!!
RIP.
A single page with photos and names of influential politicians and various affiliated types … Politico: The Deaths That Shook Politics in 2019 Remembering the notables who died this year — and why they mattered.
Seems like a particularly large set of losses. Or maybe just that way since I knew of most of those mentioned this year … a few of them for their long commitment to "good government" and opposition to partisan warfare for the sake of partisan winning.
The gloves are coming off…..

This was bound to happen. Bernie would be running away with this race but for all the votes Warren is siphoning away from him. (Biden, of course, has a similar problem with Buttigieg, and to a lesser extend, Klobuchar.)
