After being fired from KNUS 710-AM last month for joking that a “nice school shooting” would be a welcome antidote to the “never ending impeachment of Donald Trump,” Denver radio host Chuck Bonniwell, along with his co-host Julie Hayden, are launching a podcast Wednesday.

“We are excited to be joining the podcast world with the launch of the Chuck and Julie Show this Wednesday, January 8th,” tweeted the conservative co-hosts Sunday.

“The show will be a live internet call-in talk show providing thought provoking information, conversation, and entertainment,” according to the show’s page on BBS Radio.

It will air Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Denver time.

“They are dedicated to free speech and critical thinking and any and all opinions are welcome,” states the show’s page. “If you want the truth straight up and enjoy passionate debate this is the show for you.”

At KNUS, the Chuck and Julie Show developed a loyal following among Trump voters in Colorado. Bonniwell and Hayden would regularly criticize not only Democrats but the Republican establishment.

For example, Bonniwell expressed his disapproval of the “effeminate country club Republicanism” of Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO).

BBS Radio’s “Chuck and Julie Show” page doesn’t mention that the previous iteration of the show on KNUS 710-AM was canceled.

The pair, who are married, never issued a full apology for the nice-school-shooting joke, which was was reported by many of the top media outlets in the U.S., after first appearing on the Colorado Times Recorder.

Bonniwell’s first public comment was: “I made an inappropriate comment meant as a joke. I’m sorry it was not received that way.”

Later, the hosts went on to express more actual regret about the school shooting comment, tweeting that it was “inappropriate” and that Bonniwell wished he could “un-say it.”

“Violence causes too much hurt to victims and their families and we truly did not intend to add to that pain,” they stated on Twitter Dec. 19. “We have covered every school shooting and tragedy since Columbine and witnessed the unbearable pain and grief felt by the victims, families and community.”

Bonniwell is the publisher of the Glendale/Cherry Creek Chronicle, and Hayden is a former Fox 31 Denver TV reporter who now works at the Chronicle.

  1. "…thought provoking information, conversation, and entertainment,…"

So they're going to hire hosts who can actually so this?
I never heard evidence that they were capable of generating anything like that.

If they'll be needing production support – KNUS recently made one available.

    1. "…thought provoking information, conversation, and entertainment,…"

Obviously, the quote is boilerplate which will be for their podcast AND in the letters they are going to send after the 2020 election to all the talk radio stations in town.  And the podcast will be a source for their "demo reel" —

I hope someone puts a reminder on their calendar for the week after the election — "check to see if there has been an on-going weekly podcast from Chuck and Julie"

    1. You mean war with those mourners who have shouted “Death to America” for 40 years? Those mourners who behead gays and transgender folks? Those mourners who beat women for instructional purposes? Those mourners who stone women to death for infidelity? Those mourners who want all Jews dead? Those mourners who kill those who traffic in drugs (hemp)? Those mourners who “did something” Is that the war your happy about?

      1. Those mourners who behead gays and transgender folks? Those mourners who beat women for instructional purposes? Those mourners who stone women to death for infidelity? Those mourners who want all Jews dead? Those mourners who kill those who traffic in drugs (hemp)?

Surprising you consider them your enemies and claim to hate everything they stand for.  Those descriptions fit you MAGAts to a Tee.

        1. Well, there’s the difference between them …

… many of those mourners are acting, although misguidedly, under some convictions of their faith, whereas Pfruity’s peeps abandoned any and all their convictions long, long ago.

      2. So you personally know that all of the hundreds of thousands of Iranian mourners were jihadist, gay beheading, woman beating antisemites?  Or are all Muslims the same to you? I'd guess the latter.

That is about the only time a right-winger like yourself will come out for women’s or gay rights, democratic reform, etc….when you are bashing a Muslim country for being “so much worse”.

And Trump's buddies the Saudis are known for not allowing women to drive, much less vote,  death by stoning, sawing up journalists, dissenters jailed for speaking up, women lashed for being victims of rape. Definitely brothers in spirit to your extreme Dominionist Christians.

News flash: Iran has had  pro-democracy student protests, worker strikes for wage theft, and Arab Spring protesters for the last fifteen years, including last year. They tend to advocate for more equal rights for women – not sure about  gay folks. The protesters tend to be brutally suppressed by the Iranian government.

So those pro-democracy protesters – those are the ones who have turned from saying "Down with the Ayatollahs! Free speech! Free Iran" and now, yes, they are chanting, "Strong revenge! Death to America!"

        Thanks, Donald Trump.

ps. Pear, I notice that you haven’t responded to my query – how is a non-interventionist like yourself justifying Trump’s latest mideast adventure? 3500 people were just deployed to Kuwait – where is the Pear, advocating that young soldier’s lives and limbs should not be wasted for political games? Still waiting….

    1. Are you even human anymore? Is there no level too low for you follow your idol into treachery? Listen up, fool. I am going to shout…

      WE ARE IN THEIR COUNTRY.

We have killed hundreds of thousands of them in THEIR country.

Why should they not hate us to the core of their souls? Didn't YOU say we should leave?

Is there nothing so stupid the Bully-in-Chief can do that you will utter a word of criticism? That you can't get up off your worshipful knees and see the truth of this circumstance suggests your hatred profile parallels his.

  2. What "rats" are those, Pear. Our presence in Iraq is supposed to be very limited since the agreement signed in 2007 by President George W. Bush that withdrew our main forces.

    1. I love how Predictable Pear will discuss the merits of the US Government sanctioning the killing of Iraqis in their country, but used the Afghanistan papers to discuss how the Federal Government can't be trusted because they misled the public on the war in Afghanistan for a long time.

    2. I don’t care about the rats that are in the “green space”, I don’t care about the rats in your yard. If my yard is next to your yard and you fail to take care of your rat problem, I’ll help you out and take care of it for the both of us. If you choose to feed the rats then we will not be good neighbors.

      1. With such metaphorical devices as "rats in the yard," for the life of me, I can't see how he managed to lose the congressional nomination to Mike Coffman.

  3. Thanks for playing, Pear. Sorry you didn't make the cut. But, there are nice parting gifts for you on your way out.

I thought we were talking about the "rats" in Iraq.

          1. The simpleton lexicon is so small, and mostly just grunts or squeaks, it’s nearly impossible to translate any particular blather . . .

    1. Who would have thought? Pol Cats proudly rooting against America while praising evil

Tell me about it. Like the Pol Cats who praise Evil even after he publicly throws American intelligence under a bus by saying he believes Putin over them.  Or the ones that continue to praise Evil when he shreds our constitution.  It is what those Pol Cats do.
