   Disclaimer:  I’m just quoting an old playground poem from high school, and yes, we did have playgrounds in high school – at least that’s how I remember it in my own mind.  Nothing disparaging intended against any person or any persons with widely misunderstood medical conditions.  If I were looking to disparage someone, hmmm… like Wade or SK2, I’d just outright call them a fucking moron.  Wasn’t moron a banned word on TV at one point?  That’s why Bugs Bunny said, “What a maroon!”  Does that need a whole new disclaimer?

3. You dumbass!  (And I mean that affectionately, not as any sort of slur against dumb people – which you are not one and even if you were I wouldn’t mean it in a degrading way)  You just gave Jim Kerr fodder for a negative campaign ad.  He’s going to totally spin it that you hate poor white people.

   1. Steve is a dumbass, for sure. He should never have let himself get drawn into these pissing contests. It’s a weakness he’s going to have to deal with.

      But this isn’t going to hurt him at all. If Kerr tries to use “Steve Harvey got banned from a popular political website for calling someone a ‘cracker'” in a negative campaign ad, it just looks desperate and petty. The cost of being seen as too quick to sling marginal mud outweighs any power it has to create moral outrage. If Kerr says “racial slur” instead of “cracker,” the truth is far enough removed from that (in most people’s minds) to make Kerr look bad as it comes out.

      Besides, in a district in which Kerr has an overwhelming advantage, every time he acknowledges Steve’s existence, he moves the race one degree away from coronation and toward contest.

4. for the opportunity to say, “Steve I hardly knew ye.”  But for the several months I’ve been reading pols, you’ve more than once made my lurking procrastibation worth the time. You offered a different way of looking at things that, although I often didn’t understand it!, was valuable for what I came to this site for: expression and understanding, both of the minutia and the general. Thanks.

      1. Bellerophon cut a little too close to the bone (hopefully, a few people got a chance to read some of his more cogent posts on Tuesday’s open thread before he became retroactively thrown from his winged steed). I guess Pols isn’t so averse to a little micro-Orwellianism after all….

      2. just exactly what one would expect from the grandson of Sisyphus.

         As I like to remind my kids, it’s unusual to find someone who ever swims very far outside their gene pool.

         Still, everyone said Bellerophon stood no chance against the Chimaera, they said the same thing about the Amazons, and the Lycians too.

         I can’t help but wonder about that Sisyphian gene pool (and all those boulders.)
