Bennet loans campaign $300,000

Michael Bennet loans his campaign $300,000.

Frankly it’s a bizarre move for the campaign that has touted it’s fundraising as a reason to vote for him (Bennet supporters are quick to say that Bennet is the only one who can raise the money needed to win).

CBS affiliate channel 4 has a quick bit about it on their webpage, but I’m assuming this will be a topic of more conversation to come.

This of course comes a day after a new poll shows Romanoff has taken a narrow lead in the race.

Let’s be frank here: whether or not you approve of how Bennet made his millions, he can afford to do this.

The bigger question is why he’s doing this.  Has his fundraising dried up so much he can’t afford the final push (8 days to go right)?  Or is this a publicity stunt to show dedication (Remember, of course — Romanoff sold his house to give his campaign warchest a boost for the closing days).

Either way, this isn’t a good sign for the Bennet campaign.  What exactly did they do with the 6 million he had?  Was that ugly school bus really that expensive?

And finally…after spending 6 million, he’s dragging behind an opponent who has spent less than 2?
