Question for the Regular Polsters

  • by: Aristotle

By which I mean, folks who aren’t caught up in the Bennet/Romanoff pissing matches that dominate threads about that contest.

I woke up this morning to behold this diary on the home page, which wasn’t there late yesterday afternoon when I last logged in. It has 160 comments.

Is it worth my time to even click on this and see what’s being said? Or is it the same bullshit from the usual suspects?

The comments on the diary in question:

    1. it could have been:

      Your Guy is a liar.

      Hooray for our guy.

      Shill.

      Shill!

      or even,

      Horray for our guy.

      Your guy is a liar.

      Shill.

      Shill!

      “Are you a communist?”

      Overly-long semi-parental response.

If Dead Guvs or some courageous volunteer, could post daily summaries as an alternative to the entire thread it would be nearly as educational and a huge service to the community.

      1. Romanoff released a “negative ad” – negative by definition in that it was a critique of his opponent rather than about himself.

Bennet released a negative ad to counter AR’s.  Clearly already prepared and ready to go, but apparently in response.

Romanoff’s claims that Bennet tok big donations from special interest donors, and then voted for those interests not Coloradans, implying without saying that Bennet is corrupt.

Bennet’s says that Romanoff took PAC donations before, and implies therefore that Andrew’s claim of not accepting special interest money is false.

Campanoff on CoPols complained that there was nothing negative about AR’s ad- unless receiving pac donations and Bennet’s voting history are negatives.

Bennet supporters asked for names of other Colorado elected officials who are corrupt since all but self-funded Polis accept PAC donations and many of them voted the same way as Bennet on the important legislation.  One Bennet supporter put up the  numbers from FEC.gov (thru 1Q) showing that Bennet  received 82% of his donations from individuals and the 18% from PAC/corp donors is the lowest % of all the  Colorado congressional delegation.

        Campanoff  named  no names.

Links left out intentionally.  You know where they are.

  1. The shilling and cheerleading is so overpowering that I’ve pretty much tuned out of the race.  I take in the data points, look to see if there’s a rebuttal from the more rational posters, and otherwise it just flies past without conscious recognition.

    Kinda like Libertad’s posts…

  2. so I can use this stuff in the fall. But honestly I just don’t really care to wade through it. In my opinion Dems are screwing themselves by picking Bennet over Romanoff, but more power to them.

  3. Though honestly I do somewhat enjoy watching my colleagues on the other side of the aisle duking it out amongst themselves.

It is a fine break from the Republican bashing.  Unfortunately it is not as funny as the Beauprez-Holtzman shills that were arguing about who was taller back in ’06
