Trump swearing upsets evangelicals enough they may sit out the next election.. (But not the infidelities, divorces, racism, )
Another former WH counsel goes on trial for work he did in on behalf of Russia.
Elections matter but I still sense apathy and a casual conviction that no way Trump can win. Again.
Just to keep the fire stoked for our little troll wearing the stained blue dress (we know you're lurking Fluffy):
I predict he comes back with the handle "ClintonKilledEpstein" or the like by tomorrow.
I have a great avatar for him if he does…. (this is my personal favorite of the Clinton-killed-Epstein conspiracy memes-note to CHB- I am being sarcastic and ironic here):
LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!
And yet she let Anthony Weiner live?!?
Good Point.
That's a good one, pseudo. I wonder how many folks here are young enough to get it?
Apparently, not me. .???
The first video to air on MTV.
Just how tall does a tree need to be to throw this much shade?
They are particularly put off by the use of " goddamned", goddammit, etc.
As I understand it, it is blasphemous to summon Gods' damnation..that right is reserved for God…alone.
Funny how those people think.
You can pray for god’s damnation, you can preach about god’s damnation, you can wish for god’s damnation upon others . . .
. . . you just can’t say it!
The first rule of god’s fight club, is . . .
Actually, it may or may not be considered "blasphemous." The concept is known as deprecatory prayer. I heard of it a few years ago when a radical right wing preacher in California, Wiley Drake, called for deprecatory prayer against the Rev. Barry Lynn. At the time, Lynn was the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church & State. You get the picture…..
Yep.
“May or may not” — really good to know! Thanks for clarifying that . . .
Bu, bu, but — We’re all full, now . . .

Open Borders Made America Great
https://newrepublic.com/article/154717/open-borders-made-america-great
As I mentioned before, I should be conflicted, with ancestors on both sides. My sympathies lie, pretty consistently, with the native bunch. The English were pretty greedy and ruthless, and were instrumental in bringing white privilege to this continent.
While I have the floor, allow me to say a word about that. I am likely being hypersensitive about it, but I am very resentful when history is misrepresented by white people. Particularly for profit. Even more particularly by an oil and gas company.
To wit:
Chevron has been running an ad touting their impact on local jobs by highlighting a young man who learns on the job and supports his community. There is plenty wrong with that part, but the part that really ties my breechclothe in a knot is the family tree that shows 5 generations of the young mans' family. The announcer then says, "Beaus' family has been here, like, forever!"
Let that soak in for a minute.
No…they took that land from those who had been there " like, forever."
Let's keep that clear.
The same as it ever was . . .
. . . if you were surprised by, or if you think that, those Mississippi ICE raids last week on a Koch facility didn’t occur without corporate acquiescence, approval, and in the service of some greater Kochish agenda . . .
. . . well, then, you probably just haven’t thought about it, huh?
https://newrepublic.com/article/154732/ices-raids-win-corporate-exploitation
Not the same Koch business.
Unless there is some type of hidden ties between them. Alex Jones, what say you? Are there ties between Koch Foods and the Brothers Koch? Maybe the Q people can sniff something out.
Yeah, jeez . . .
. . . OK, so first of all, I’ll admit I didn’t know that, so thanks; you’re swell.
I should probably point out that it might take some kind of snarky prick (. . . and I know, ‘cuz I are one . . . ) to blinderdly parse, but to not notice, that the same point about “corporate” control of these matters might remain valid, regardless of the vast indifferences between billionaire owners (notwithstanding an unshared heredity)??
My one other response here is (since I never did say it was the same kochs), therefore, that same hearty F U I’d have for the whole homonymous family, your friend Alex Jones, or any of the Qs . . .

Your time sense is slipping …
WAPO fact checker points out that on August 5, "In 928 days, President Trump has made 12,019 false or misleading claims"
The more important count: 449 Days Until General Election
Can you imagine Bernie dropping even one of these? He's senile! Get him out! Dems would be on cable news 24/7.
Climate Change WOTD from David Roberts at Vox: "Electric vehicles can reduce the Colorado’s Carbon emissions more than anything else."
David Roberts has been providing high quality, consistent reporting on reducing Carbon emissions. This article is a comparison between two Carbon reduction strategies modeled in Colorado:
(1) Converting to Clean energy. Wind and Solar PV is expanded, Coal is eliminated, but Natural Gas electrical generation fills-in as needed.
(2) Clean energy + 100% Electric Vehicles. Assumes smart grid for scheduling EV charging demand.
Going 100% EV has some great benefits for Colorado:
(1) The average driver will save $600/year in fuel – Electric fuel is cheaper than gas. Also, electric cars should cost less than gas-hogs within about 4 years.
(2) 100% EV reduces carbon emissions by 42% between 2018 and 2040, providing a larger reduction than de-carbonizing 100% of Electrical Generation.
Don't forget that with no more oil changes, there is less toxic waste, not to mention less demand for processed dinosaur poop. And not having to change oil, flush radiators, replace spark plugs, hoses, valves, cam chains, catalytic converters, (most EVs don’t even have transmissions), etc, the cost of ownership drops dramatically
And in case you are thinking “What about those dead batteries?”

What about all the cancer caused by the wind turbines?
and when we we run out of sun light cause the solar panels are sucking it all up?

Not just when it comes to technology. Remember, ICE employees work for the government and from their own twisted perspective, believe they are there "to help."
