It’s June! The weather has finally turned nice to stay, flowers are in bloom, skies are blue, and it’s Pride Month.

Let’s kick off the 2020 U.S. Senate race with a picnic! This Sunday at Denver’s Barnum Park, our friends at Indivisible Front Range Resistance are throwing a 2020 Colorado Senate candidate forum and picnic. Every Senate candidate (including Sen. Cory Gardner, of course!) is invited, and we’re hoping hundreds to show up for an afternoon of fun, food, and education about what’s at stake in this race.

“Our intention with this event is to raise awareness of the upcoming U.S. Senate election,” says my friend Tania Van Pelt of Indivisible Denver. “We want to get Coloradans engaged with the candidates and issues that matter to all of us, so we can make an informed decision in the coming election year.”

Your #1 action item this week: join us for a picnic!

Where: Barnum Park, 360 West Hooker Street, Denver
When: Sunday, June 9 at 4:30PM

Thanks! This is just the first of many opportunities you’ll have over the coming weeks and months to get involved in what could be the hottest U.S. Senate race of 2020–the fight that could decide control of the U.S. Senate. Stay tuned.

Here are some more great ways to take action for the week of June 3:

We conducted a comparative study in 2018 to learn more about the lived experiences of LGBTQ Coloradans accessing health care and want to share with you what we learned.
