What you can do to fight back this week (December 10)

The far right doesn’t like to lose. But they’re getting so good at it!

In the wake of the 2018 elections, “conservative” losers are desperate to salvage anything they can before power changes hands in January. In Wisconsin, Republicans in the legislature passed laws to strip power from the incoming governor in a brazen attempt to undo the will of Wisconsin’s voters. In Washington, President Trump is desperately weighing his options as the investigation into his campaign’s dealings with Russia gets closer to the end, and Robert Mueller files charges against more and more of his inner circle.

Here in Colorado, where the blue wave was stronger than perhaps anywhere in America, we’re getting ready for an historic 2019. After years of gridlock and division, we’re on the cusp of making the big changes we’ve been talking about for years. Priorities like paid family leave for every working Coloradan, an end to backward discriminatory practices like so-called “conversion therapy,” and completing Colorado’s transition to the new energy economy are finally within reach. Over the next two years, our job as Colorado progressives is to put these bold ideas into practice, and show the nation that common-sense progressive policies work.

Don’t miss another action alert! The response to our new partnership with RiseUp, using their innovative mobile app to instantly stay up to date on political events and activist opportunities, has been an enormous success. We’ll continue to deliver this weekly email alert on upcoming events, but make sure you download the RiseUp app to your iPhone or Android smartphone so you never miss an update or breaking alert midweek. We’ll be using RiseUp every day during the legislative session to let you all know how to get involved in making these policy goals a reality, and how you can make sure we hold the newly elected progressive majorities accountable to their campaign promises.
