TIME TO VOTE and more ways to fight back this week (October 22)

  • by: ProgressNow Colorado

After nearly two years of resistance to the disastrous takeover of the federal government by Donald Trump and his disreputable enablers in the Republican Party, the time has finally come to strike back at the polls. In 2016, we saw what happens when progressives fail to take an election seriously, and let the perfect become the enemy of the good.

Never again. The time for complacency in the face of marching extremism is over.

Here in Colorado, every vote counts and it’s never been easier to cast your ballot. Most registered voters have already received your mail ballots. If you haven’t received a ballot for any reason, or if you’re not a registered voter in Colorado, you can register and vote at any time all the way up to Election Day! And even if you’ve been convicted of a crime, Colorado isn’t like some other states–if you’ve served your sentence and are off parole, you can vote.

Visit JustVoteColorado.org to get all the details you’ll need to vote in Colorado this year no matter what your situation.

Confused about the 13 statewide ballot measures up for a vote in November? We’ve got you covered. Download the ProgressNow Colorado one-page Colorado ballot guide here. Tambien en español.

Once you’ve made your plan to vote, check out all these great ways to make a difference for the week of October 22:

Public Charge – Debrief (LIVE) | Platica sobre el Cargo Público

The Trump administration is continuing its destructive efforts to divide the country and vilify immigrants. Now we have to take action against this latest attack. The administration has proposed a new regulation that would block immigrant families from having a permanent, secure future in the United States. Under the new rule, immigrants who legally access health care, safe housing, and healthy food programs could be denied admission to the country or refused a green card. The proposed rule also makes clear that earning low wages, having children, or dealing with a medical condition could be held against immigrants seeking a permanent future in the United States.
