(Josh is about to make somebody cry… – promoted by Middle of the Road)
Ignoring the crazy, or at least crazier, fringe faction of his base, one-time Tea Party favorite and soon to be former state senator, Josh Penry has endorsed Jane ‘The Other’ Norton for U.S. Senate.
Penry announced yesterday that he was endorsing Washington insider and national party favorite Jane Norton in her bid to replace U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet. This coming the same weekend Colorado right-wing blogger and Fox News regular Michelle Malkin rallied the state’s Tea Party troops specifically by decrying Norton’s candidacy.
Many baggers remain upset at the blatant top-down good-old-boy politics of the state GOP, from its backroom selection of candidates to its ‘platform by triumvirate.’
Recently GJ tea partisans endorsed Bob McConnell over Scott Tipton for the 3rd CD, which was reported in the Western Slope Watchdog (the Uncompahgre Valley’s equivalent of World Net Daily) but not the Sentinel. Comment threads and letters continue to blast Scott McInnis as a RINO and worse. The GOP elite’s candidates might talk the tea party talk, but rank and file baggers seem unconvinced.
