Ed Perlmutter reneges on pledge for Veterans' Memorial

  • by: Laughing Boy

Ed Perlmutter had pledged $500,000 from earmarks for the Colorado Freedom Memorial.  He sat on their board, and listed his support for the memorial on his website.

Out of the blue, he sends a representative to talk to Rick Crandall, the memorial’s biggest advocate at an event where Crandall is walking onstage to emcee, and tells him the money has been pulled because “the chairman was concerned it would raise red flags”.

WTF is that?  Who is “the chairman”?  ‘Red flags’ supporting a veterans’ memorial?

Congressman Perlmutter, why do you hate our veterans?

  1. I give you a joking “why do hate America” and you push back that the joke is over and it’s stoopid.  So I agree not to do it to you anymore. And since then you’ve been “why do you hate”- ing repeatedly.

Rep Perlmutter has been solid on vets issues and I’m inclined to believe there must be more to the story.  Your link is interesting but useless.   http://www.gulfwarmemorial.com/

  2. Is the person most responsible for bringing the regional VA hospital to the new med school.

This is not your best piece of opposition research.

The true question should be: why do you hate Ed Perlmutter?

    1. I like him, actually.

But I’ve done some work on this Memorial, and it seems to be an unbelievably shitty thing for him to do, and an especially shitty way to deliver the message.

I’m pissed about it, and I hope it hurts him in the election.

      How’s that, Ray?

      1. It comes across that you are upset with him. It doesn’t sound like you hate him.

Perhaps you should give him or Bill a call and talk about it.

              1. I’d rather not get drawn into getting angry with people that hide. But it is true that the anonymity of the this site gives rise to abuse. It permits people to say things that they never would say in public.

For example, you simply ask why Rep.Perlmutter hates veterans when he did more than anyone else to bring the VA regional hospital to Aurora.I don’t think that you’d ever put your real name to that post in public. You hide behind anonymity.

If I’m wrong then post by your own name.

The  blatant sexuality attacks against Norton, and against me for meeting people on FB (from Ralphie) are ridculous. I don’t like Norton, Nevertheless, I wouldn’t attack her for the way she dresses. It’s sexual harassment. In the work environment people would be fired for it.

The flat out name calling to Sharon Hanson has been inappropriate. The amount of just telling people to FO on this site disturbs.

She may say some offensive things, but she doesn’t deserve to be treated the way she has been.

                I think that it’s a good analogy.

Though in some ways, the klan is  more honest. One knows right away from the costume that they are hateful people. They still hide from owning their hatred, just like people here do.
