Colorado employees of King Soopers and City Market voted to accept a new contract from their employer, while Safeway workers rejected the offer, according to vote results released today.

Based on the way that I am interpreting this, the King Soopers / City Market employees probably took a good hard look at the economy and the liklihood of being locked out or on strike without a paycheck and chose the lesser of two evils.
Seems like the Safeway employees figured that they have nothing to lose by rejecting the contract and either continuing to negotiate or go on strike.
They way I see it, this was probably a solid move for the King Soopers employees as they no longer have to worry about being locked out as they will be under a new contract.
