Once in awhile there’s a story that reminds us, some of us, why we got into this business.
Glenville High football, in Cleveland, is one of those stories. You can read it here: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12…
You may wonder: What’s Cleveland high school football doing on ColoradoPols? Well, this isn’t about Cleveland, and it isn’t about football, although those are the contexts. This is about what’s possible–the potential living in every single human being without exception, waiting to blossom. It’s about a man, coach Ted Ginn, who knows how to unleash that potential. He happens to be in Cleveland. He could just as easily be in Denver, or Greeley, or Pueblo, or Alamosa; even Grand Junction or Kit Carson.
The struggle goes on. But occasionally we can lean back, just for a couple of hours, and cheer for triumph, whatever the score. Today we cheer for Glenville and Ginn Academy!
