Sen. Bennet in the AM760 Progressive Dojo This Morning

Note: I’ll be keynoting the Democratic Party of Denver’s annual Edward M. Kennedy dinner tomorrow night. Details here – hope to see some of you there! – D

Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet (D) made his debut appearance in the AM760 progressive dojo this morning. You can listen to my interview with him here (starts about 10 minutes into the clip).

I tried to ask Bennet some top-tier tough questions about his Wall Street fundraising, his controversial vote against cramdown and the varying intensity of his support for the public option (by the way, as I said in the interview, he’s always officially supported it – the question has been why the strength of his support had seemed to waver).

While I don’t agree with him on some of these things (cramdown in particular) he answered the questions in a straightforward way and didn’t try to evade any of the topics. Put another way, he was a straight shooter, which I appreciated.

Again, listen in here and judge Bennet for yourself. I thought he did a very good job (and, just to be fair, I also thought Andrew Romanoff did a very good job when he was on my show a few weeks back).

Oh, one programming note – this coming Thursday (11/12) Congressman Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) will be in the AM760 progressive dojo for a full hour at 9am. Tune in at www.am760.net or on your dial.
