“Loyalty is a fine quality, but in excess it fills political graveyards.”

You’d think Republican Chris Corzine, as an acting US Attorney, would have somewhat of an inkling of copyright law, but no!

Funny how Republicans do things like choose campaign songs by recording artists who can’t stand their guts.
Even more utilized is inter district choice.

But some have questioned abuses by parents. Some do not report their real addresses or home districts. Some completely avoid reporting their status.
I’m sure there is some spin in here I missing that means we need more money for public schools. Why Denver’s 80% Democrat performance voters don’t approve funding for public education at equity levels borne by say Alamosa residents is still an oddity.
This is a true teaching moment: Imagine, people like having a choice.
Now if only we could complete this circle and deploy a school voucher program. Think of the upside at DPS where direct competition with private schools could bring in greater menu options to more taxpayers.
With busing, hot lunches and all the other advantages over private schools DPS could attract even more market share with direct scholorship. DC has been a terrific model for more Choice – Opportunity Scholarship Program – it gives poor students and their parents the ability to choose private or public schools in safe neighborhoods. Imagine the value this Education Choice has given to DC students.
At least the Heritage Foundation will take responsibility for their Astroturf organizations, like this. And making it look cheap and iMovie-ish goes a long way toward covering their tracks.

But….
It’s still Astroturf. Thanks for keeping your streak alive, ‘tad!
Because what a bummer it would be to have those kids actually get an education at the expense of the teachers’ union.
Allow me to give a shout out for my favorite used book site. I usually find everything I want here for $1.00 plus shipping:

I’ve been using it for years and they are well worth a second look. They often have books (out of print) that you can’t find anywhere else.
because it does an excellent job describing the rise of christian fundamentalism and politics is The Family by Jeff Scarlett.
The book “Krakatoa” is positioned right next to the ad for Ann Coulter’s weekly column. You gadda wonder which is going to erupt first spewing molten lava.
Try Bismark, North Dakota, who comes in at a low, low, 3.4%. They have a one billion dollar surplus that they are trying to figure out how to spend this year.
A novel idea, no?
save it for a rainy day, which is what they are also considering doing with it. Can you imagine? Saving money to put aside for an economic downturn? Crazy, huh?
Return half to the taxpayers, and use half as a rainy day fund . . .
I’d love to have the luxury of those options, wouldn’t you?
Guess I better keep working!
Uh oh, I guess I’d better do the same.
That’s where the surplus comes from in ND, just like in WY.
They talked about how both have really fed the coffers for ND.
Major fail, Vitter. Major fail.
Congress and the Senate just makes me ill. He literally walked away from here after refusing to take any responsibility for his position.
Gutless fucking coward.
Former President Clinton unveils statue in Kosovo
PRISTINA, Kosovo – Thousands of ethnic Albanians braved low temperatures and a cold wind in Kosovo’s capital Pristina to welcome former President Bill Clinton on Sunday as he attended the unveiling of an 11-foot (3.5-meter) statue of himself on a key boulevard that also bears his name.
Clinton is celebrated as a hero by Kosovo’s ethnic Albanian majority for launching NATO’s bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in 1999 that stopped the brutal Serb forces’ crackdown on independence-seeking ethnic Albanians.

I know we’ve had heated debate about the use of Military Force and Nation-Building, but this is one of those examples of how things went right.
There’s one there – somewhere – of him golfing – and saying, “Now watch this drive.”
They wouldn’t give me a ballot. Since I moved October 5, and the deadline for registering was October 4, they said I was out of luck…
Not that I was too terribly excited about voting in this election anyway. All my friends seem unhappy with all the choices.
And then reach across the counter and say, “Listen here you crazy little Clerk helper, I want my ballot!!!”
In person I’m a big wuss.
I had to laugh, it sounded so circa 1980’s … almost like he was running against Reagan.
I didn’t know keeping your campaign promises dated you in the 1980’s, Libby.
Funny thing – everything he’s mentioned he’s either proposed, investigated or started doing.
Got nuthin’ today, huh?
