Stunning, I know. Have you turned your ballot in yet? Probably not:
In Denver County, 12,476 ballots had been returned by Friday. Another 883 yesterday, and 5,986 today. 311,123 remain outstanding one week before they are due to be in the hands of the Denver Election Commission.
Nothing to vote for you say? Maybe, but there’s something you need to vote against:
This November, voters in Denver will vote on a vague and dangerous ballot initiative, Initiative 300, that would require the local police department to immediately impound the vehicle of anyone driving without a drivers license or registration in their possession.
This is yet another initiative pushed by Jeffco crackpot Daniel Hayes, darling of Peter “Orly Taitz” Boyles and unabashed racist. The law is a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment. If it passes, it will cost the city millions of dollars to enforce, and then millions of dollars to defend in court when someone’s Constitutional rights are violated by the Denver Police under this initiated ordinance.
These harebrained ideas from fringe lunatics prove what’s wrong with the initiative system. We need to raise the bar. If people want to change the law they should run for office. But in the short term, those of you in Denver need to return your ballots with a NO vote.

Between a slate on the far left… and a slate on the far far far left.
after the turd he laid on his Colorado Matters interview he deserves to be yanked.
Peter “Birther Queen” Boyles?
Now’s a good time as any to admit…
I’m not registered to vote.
I moved in early October (from one spot in Boulder to another), and forgot to change my address. Now it’s too late. I just have to watch from the sidelines.
It’ll be the first election in my adult life that I can’t participate in.
So none of you have to take anything I say seriously ever again. (Middle of the Road already has a head start.)
You have no right to bitch about ANYTHING!
🙂
As long as you didn’t move from one county to another you can vote at your old precinct (since this is a mail ballot election you just need to call the clerk and get a ballot)
It may be possible to vote at your former address.
and apparently they sent my ballot to my old address. I assume they won’t forward it. But I’ll call them to make sure.
But you can get a replacement ballot in person at the clerk’s office. It might be possible to get one by mail but I’d just bite the bullet and head in this late in the game.
Another “Destroy Colorado Springs” idea from the Dougster which would remove payments from the City’s enterprises to the General Fund. These payments are the 2nd largest (after sales tax) source of revenue for the Springs’ government.
Most of you throughout the State thought you were rid of this megalomaniac when he got booted out of the legislature. But we’re still stuck with him.
but 2C will definately pass. And that is a good thing.
But please, do tell – why is removing a source of legitimate municipal revenue a good thing?
