Just wanted to give folks a heads-up on the latest Bennet v. Romanoff opinion thread–it’s not that we’re ignoring these, we just try to save the act of promotion for, well, actual news. Be assured we’ll continue to promote all such diaries than contain any. This thread’s purpose, as community stalwart twas brillig so correctly put it, is for “coverage” of the “coverage.”
We’ll leave you with this inspiring quote:
“Wade into them! Spill their blood! Shoot them in the belly! When you put your hand…into a bunch of goo…that a moment before was your best friend’s face…you’ll know what to do.”
–George C. Scott as Gen. George S. Patton

Day 57 of the Romanoff campaign (it seems like so much longer). Still waiting for a page on his website, or some other clear outline available to the public, highlighting his stances on the issues he would be dealing with as a US Senator.
“Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory. ”
Yes, he’s in. I’m currently on the fence about who to support. But the more he keeps quiet and in the background, the more I wonder if he’s up to the bruising task of running for Senator.
Bennet is the incumbent – DO SOMETHING to show that you’ll be better at the job!!!
I sent the campaign an email requesting information on about a half dozen specific issues–or if they could point me to where I might find them–two weeks ago, crickets. I am truly undecided, but leaning toward Bennet (as the incumbent) and need AR to distinguish himself and earn my vote…so far I am disappointed.
I asked for an interview. I got a call back the first week saying sure. Then silence. I’ve asked again several times and never received a reply.
At least on the McInnis campaign they were polite enough to tell me no.
Not a doubt in my mind. I’m supporting Bennet. I keep running into other Littleton area Dems who feel the same, more in sorrow than in anger toward Romanoff. And Bennet isn’t letting a day go by without saying or doing something we have to approve of. Lots of e-mail comunication keeping us posted. Romanoff giving us no reason not to stick with Bennet.
We already feel morally obliged to throw away money supporting a Dem for CD6 every two years. Little inclination to throw away any extra. Romanoff is done.
To justify re-igniting the discussion?
No?
Snore . . .
This diary is pretty tongue in cheek. I wouldn’t put much weight in it other than the fact that it’s making fun of certain people.
the obsessed?
I resemble that remark…..or something
is comparing the Penry/McInnis primary threads and the Bennet/Romanoff discussions. Is it just my perception that the conversation is a bit less friendly in the former?
that R’s are less civil to their own and less tolerant of challengers and competition?
That’s such a stereotype. Next thing you’ll be saying they’re all white and mostly rich.
African/American Republican once. But yeah, they are mostly rich. I recall learning that as a young’un in 1976. The average income of delegates to the ’76 National Dem convention was about $8,500. The average income of delegates to the ’76 Republican convention was about $55,000. I did the math.
I probably should have made it clear I was one of the people who “covers” the “coverage”.
and the clock is running.
Assuming you can’t win in the final days barring the unexpected- this election will be over by July. Let’s say Ju;y 3rd just to have a place to count from and a basis to imagine a mid-summer fun weekend.
249 days left.
What’s happened in the past 50 days:
– Bennet has released another q of serious fundraising, especially for a guy who supposedly doesn’t know how to campaign
– Bennet continues to meet and greet and impress
– Bennet got a hot committee assignment
– AR raised enough money to run for… something else, not US Senate
– AR was interviewed by 9News & David Sirota without significantly differentiating himself from Bennet
– McDaniels has the Broncos kicking butt
– Phillies & Yankees
– leaves have turned and fallen
– ski season has started
In the next 50…. AR becomes competitive or exits gracefully.
