POLS UPDATE: In the rough no longer:

You can check out his new website here:

www.andrewromanoff.com

Some thoughts:

1. Very cleanly designed. Whoever’s handling his online operation knows what they’re doing.

You have three buttons across the top: About Andrew, Volunteer & Donate. Right now, these are the three most important things that the campaign needs, with emphasis on the fundraising.

2. The “About Andrew” button talks a little about him, but what it really does is emphasize what issues Romanoff will concentrate on in a campaign. At first glance, it looks like:

– Health care (he talks about curbing costs & patients’ rights)

– Education (he emphasizes his work on BEST)

– Environment (talks about fighting the Bush administration)

– Human Rights (talks about Darfur, and protecting vulnerable populations in CO)

In short: this is an impressive start. We’ll see what he says in his rollout, but it’s a good start. I’ve said all along that in a closed primary, running against an incumbent, you’ve got to give voters a reason to fire the incumbent and give you a shot at the job.

Romanoff’s starting to do that by staking out what issues he’ll concentrate on. My guess is that in his speech, he’ll give the contrast with Sen. Bennet.

We’ll see where it goes. Game on, people.

Who do you support: Bennet or Romanoff?
