This morning on AM760, we chatted with Coloradoan editor Bob Moore about Rep. Betsy Markey’s (D-CO) town hall meeting, her statement opposing the House health care bill, and her upcoming re-election battle. We also talked to Gov. Bill Ritter about his proposed budget cuts, the rationale behind them, and what his response will to some of the Republican pushback is. You can listen in here.
Interesting things of note: Markey seems intent on trying to split the health care difference, coming out against the current House bill but reiterating her support for a public option. Meanwhile, Ritter said he has been working with county officials to make sure nobody is thrown out on the street by his specific health care cuts. That’s good news. Also good news is that the budget crisis seems to have forced Ritter to begin – ever so slowly – moving forward on criminal justice reform.
We discussed all that in the clip, so listen in. Tomorrow, we’re going to get an update on the national campaign to force Democratic Members of Congress to commit to supporting a public option. We’ll also go over more of the budget cuts. So tune in between 7am-10am at www.am760.net or on your radio dial.
