Scott McInnis’ pro-military, pro-growth position on Pinon Canyon and the Fort Carson army base expansion has earned him significant support throughout El Paso County. McInnis picked up endorsements from some influential and well-respected county leaders including:
• Commissioner and Chairman Jim Bensberg
• Commissioner Wayne Williams
• Coroner Dr. Robert Bux
• Sheriff Terry Maketa
• Treasurer Sandra Damron
• Surveyor Chris Brewer
• Assessor Mark Lowderman
• 4th Judicial District Attorney Dan May
Commissioner Sallie Clark has also endorsed McInnis and is serving as his county chair.
This does not look good for McInnis’ GOP primary opponents, as El Paso has a pretty healthy chunk of primary votes.
