With so much crazy out there being manufactured by entrenched DC lobbyists like Dick Armey and the $1.7 Billion Fraud Rick Scott, cheerlead by the “mobfather” himself Boss Limbaugh, and other right wingers like Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Glenn Beck, it seems the White House has seen fit to give them all a good dose of reality.
This morning the White House launched Reality Check:
Anyone that’s watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic – and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it’s time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.
That’s why we’ve launched a new online resource – WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck – to help you separate fact from fiction and share the truth about health insurance reform.
Videos have been posted on the website debunking several of the right-wing talking points against health insurance reform such as Sarah Palin’s recent claim (stolen from the always credible Michelle Bachmann) that the President’s health insurance reform would create “death panels” to kill your grandmother.
Melody Barnes, the President’s Director of the Domestic Policy Council, debunks the malicious myth that reform would encourage or even require euthanasia for seniors.
This is only the beginning folks. We still have several more rounds to go. As for the thugs on the right who are throwing everything they got right now, “you ain’t so bad!”

my diary gets spammed by Libertad, you should know AARP is launching a a multimillion dollar ad campaign against the rights radical attacks on the fears of Senior citizens.
.
This tactic worked well during the election, as it equipped the legions of Obama volunteers with the talking points they needed to assuage undecided voters about all sorts of false issues (citizenship, religion, etc). The trick then, however, was that there were legions of Obama volunteers out there carrying the message. OFA 2.0 is hardly “legion,”and while AARP ads will help, in the end, you can lead this “horse” to water, but I’m not sure you can make it drink. What needs to happen this time round, is that OUR elected leaders need to find the spine WE gave them when WE, as a country, voted overwhelmingly for CHANGE in the first place.
