  1. IMHO  Check this out

Why is National Guard recruiting for ‘internment’ cops?

Ad campaign seeks workers at ‘civilian resettlement facility’

    –WND

    http://www.wnd.com/

Panic points:  Homeland Security issued a report last Spring saying that right wing groups could be plotting terrorism…Pelosi says interrupting Town Hall Meeting is “unamerican”…..now the military is recruiting guards for interment camps…..is Obama planning on putting “dissenter” in camps????  ARe they using the flag@whitehouse.gov  to identify these dissenters?

Venezula is the place to watch..because Hugo Chavez is shutting down radio, tv and press…and everyone knows Hugo and Obama are bff……

    1. The National Guard has had a riot-control/civil disturbance mission since forever. This is not some new super-secret Smoking Man-organized mission, rolled out because someone got mad at Sean Hannity.

Find this in the somewhat-mainstream media, and I’ll refute the rest of it.

BTW, Seriously, WorldNet Daily? The first six stories on this site are “Birther” propaganda….and then two links are on how to make millions off of a $200 investment and cheap life insurance.

      Geez.

        1. There’s a thread for this, and usually you’re cut n paste web antics related to the matter at hand.

Getting a little confused by all the big words?

    2. …I don’t often do this, but you’re a complete slack-jawed goober.

The link cited in the story takes you to the Army’s official website, which is a description of Military Occupation Specialties (MOS) or your job in the military.

31E Internment/Resettlement (I/R) Specialist – is a military job within the Law Enforcement Branch. Here: http://usmilitary.about.com/od

(I sent you to About.com in case you’re worried about the secrt guvmt interwebz poleece…)

I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but the military has it’s own justice system. And confinement facilities. And courts. And in wartime, a mission to hold and manage prisoners of war.

This MOS is the Prison Guard MOS. They would guard military prisoners in Military confinement facilities in the US and abroad.

      Dumbass.

      1. I posted the link. I gave my opinion of what talk show hosts are going to be spining all week…..So don’t give me any grief….I don’t believe this crap….but it will be on public airwaves, IMHO …and I am just giving you a “heads up.”…as to what raw meat will be thrown at the mob..

Call up boyles/beck/limbaugh/caplis/etc….and try and tell them your facts… if can get on…

          1. from dwyer’s past posts, I figured it must be snark but must say I would probably not have caught on otherwise. Lately there’s a lot of misunderstanding here.  Maybe we need a snark seminar.

          2. I really respect your opinion, so I am glad that you understood what I was doing…

However, on the other hand, maybe I do have a future in talk radio, after all.:)

    3.    Where right wing nuts with be taught things like the science behind evolution and global warming as well as multiculturalism and diversity training.

  2. from CNN

Think about it. If this truly were a post-racial America, as so many of my conservative friends tell me, then wouldn’t Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly and the likes have flooded the airwaves in support of professor Gates?

After all, don’t their firmly stated beliefs force them to align with Gates? Aren’t conservatives the ones who are always railing against “government intrusion” and “excessive use of government power”?

Here you have a government official intruding on a man’s personal property, denying his constitutional right (freedom of speech) and abusing government power by arresting him when he refuses to back down in his home.

  3. …where I wanted to talk to someone about the health care plans in the Senate. I also wanted to know his specific stand on certain issues, such as the Public Option, Medical Record modernization, etc.

The official line from the Office is that “Sen Bennet is reviewing the input from his constituents, and will support particular legislation based on that feedback.”

So, in other words, I have no opinion if it’s going to hurt me later….or now.

They were very polite, and seemed very prepared for the mounting tidal wave of visitors they’re going to be getting over the next few week.

Can I emphasize again that they’re “prepared” for the nutbags out there on both sides of the issue who want to come in and scream, holler, threaten and be violent?

As in US Code Title 18, Part I, Chapter 7, Section 115? Esp the enforcement part? Got it?

    1.    Imagine if Bennet faces off against Both Ways next year; neither one of them will be tied down to a single position on a single issue!

      1. would be preferable to appointment.  This guy never would have won over Andrew Romanoff in a primary, yet he is firmly ensconced now and rolling in money so Democrats are stuck with an unelected Senator few ever heard of or wanted in the first place.

I got the form letter which was basically as you you describe the official line.  He’s all for niceness whatever that may  mean to you.  He hopes it means all things to all people. Have a nice day.  At least he makes Udall look fearlessly decisive by comparison, even if its’s mostly on style points.

      1. spells it out more directly. He doesn’t say whether he would oppose a bill that doesn’t include a public option, but it sounds less equivocal than some of the above descriptions of his position:

Every Coloradan should have access to affordable, quality health care.

Any health care reform bill should control costs, allow people to keep their own medical plan and their own doctor, increase competition, and increase coverage — all in a fiscally responsible way.

I also believe providing patients with a public insurance option — that increases competition and drives down prices — would help to achieve these goals.

  4. Well below is Canter’s letter if anyone wants to read it.  Good Luck taking on Coffman John Flerlage!  I would assume if done right it would help open up some money for the Flerlage for congress campaign.

    Dear Supporters, Friends and Family:

Over the past month, I have met with friends, family, supporters, campaign consultants, elected officials and campaign staff regarding the viability of my campaign to become the first Democrat to represent Colorado’s 6th Congressional District. After much deliberation, and for the good of the party and the people of this district, I have decided to suspend my campaign.

Though my campaign may be suspended, I remain committed to work with local parties and candidates to change the status quo in the 6th Congressional District. For far too long our progressive ideals and values have fallen on deaf ears in the 6th Congressional District – a district that has become synonymous with the hate-filled, bigoted rhetoric of people like Tom Tancredo. The Republican establishment has turned its backs on the people of this district – people who are losing their jobs, their health care coverage, their ability to provide for their families. Too many in this district can’t afford to send their kids to college, while still others are forced to chose between putting gas in their cars or paying their mortgage. No one in this economy is immune – not Democrats, not Republicans, not Independents.

Thankfully, one candidate remains to take up the charge and advance our progressive agenda in the United States House of Representatives: John Flerlage. Over the past several months, John and I have appeared at functions together, we have talked to one another, and we have exchanged our ideas on the issues that are most important to us. Issues like providing quality, affordable health care for all Americans; ensuring that higher education is available and affordable to those who desire to go to college; and rebuilding the infrastructure and of this great country through green, sustainable renewable energy projects.

Though I am suspending my campaign, I pledge my support for John Flerlage, to help John build a grassroots effort that will bring victory to the progressives in a district that has been ignored by those on the right for far too long.

In closing, I extend my appreciation to those of you who supported my campaign, who provided me with encouragement, and who recognized that a Democrat can win Colorado’s 6th Congressional District. It has been a wonderful and humbling experience meeting with you and hearing firsthand what you expect from your elected officials. Last, a special “thank you” to my wife, Joni, and my children, Joshua, Sam and Amanda, for allowing me to take this journey with you over the past 10 months.

Warmest regards, and with my deepest, heartfelt gratitude,

    David S. Canter

    1. Now that there’s just one candidate, fundraising just got that much easier.

Despite the informed analysis of this fine website, LtCol Flerledge has been doing all the right things in terms of reaching out to the Dems and Independents in this district.

      1. LtCol. Flerlage is not a lightweight.

But neither was Hank. I met him down at the convention in Colorado Springs. He was smart, practical, calm, and focused.

CD6 votes on ideology. Here’s hoping LtCol. Flerlage’s association with ALPA won’t hurt him and that being a retired United States Marine Corps officer will carry weight with this bunch.

        Good luck and good hunting.
