The 2016 election has been over for nearly two weeks now, so you know what that means: It’s time to move on toward 2018!
The 2018 Big Line is now available at the top of the page (or via this link if you prefer). As we always say around this time of a new election cycle, the Big Line is very preliminary; Democrats will certainly try to unseat Attorney General Cynthia Coffman, for example, but we haven’t heard enough rumors about any one particular challenger to start listing names just yet.
Expect to see significant changes to The 2018 Big Line before the end of the year, particularly in regards to the race for Governor and the potential open seat in CD-7 (should Rep. Ed Perlmutter indeed jump in the race for Colorado’s top office). But we’ve gotta start somewhere, and this is where we begin…

You're missing Cary Kennedy from the gov. line.
Kennedy is on there — she just isn't in our initial top four. You need to click the link for the complete list.
As much as I like Cary for gov, Ed has it if he runs. Salazar should go home and stay there. He was one of the Dems who voted for credit companies over people trying to get out from heavy debt , and then had the cajones to blame people filing for bankruptcy.
Nobody forced those persons to get themselves into debt.
Did someone force Trump to go into debt, declare bankruptcy, and get a tax write off?!?
Remember that Al Capone wasn't imprisoned for murder or racketeering. He was jailed for tax fraud. There is no statute of limitations for significant tax fraud. Trump used a tax ploy to the tune of about One Billion Dollars that his tax attorneys told him had virtually no chance of being accepted by the IRS. That should constitute criminal tax evasion resulting in his imprisonment. If not………
If Salazar wants it's his. But, he may well have gotten used to making big $
Too soon? Yes, too soon. I haven't gotten over the embarrassment I have over recommending your last Get More Smarter prediction video. We know how that turned out.
I think Johnston is going to run for Senate in 2020 against Gardner. Just a hunch.
Just my thoughts:
Ed is great. Ken is great. I have nothing bad to say about either – both absolutely wonderful people. But if this trend of electing 'economically' savvy politicians continues, I really think we need to look at Jared Polis for Governor and Betsy Markey for Senate. We have two incredible Democrats in Colorado who are good people, pillars in their communities and absolutely successful entrepreneurs. Most Democratic State Chairs would give kidneys away to have one statewide candidate with such a resume (let alone two!). Overall, I hope Polis and Markey give some consideration (and I hope we don't block them if they do). We are extraordinarly lucky to have them right now.
On the GOP side – I'm hearing Suthers will run for Governor. I also think that he absolutely runs away with that primary if he does. Please correct me if I'm wrong?
Hope you're all well! – Miguel Ali
