Tue Aug 10, 2010 at 16:23:35 PM MDT

Make your predictions below on who you think will win the big statewide Primary races. Get them in before 7:00 tonight to make sure you get full bragging rights for a correct answer, and we'll think up some sort of prize for the person who makes the most correct predictions.

PREDICTIONS

  • U.S. Senate (Democrats)
  • U.S. Senate (Republicans)
  • Governor (Republicans)
  • Treasurer (Republicans)
  • Tiebraker: The total number of votes cast in the Republican Primary for Treasurer.

Make sure to put your predictions in a numerical, percentages format. For example: Walker Stapleton over J.J. Ament, 54-46

We don't do predictions. We've learned our lesson the hard way, long ago.

There's a reason television seasons only include 13 episodes: the writers can't come up with new material. Same with political seasons: blog hosts can't come up with new subjects.

Beyond that, the subject has become boring. No new comments or pithy observations; just the same old same old. Shill! Liar! Ass! Liar! Bullshit! Liar! Sandinista! (ok, scratch the last one.)

Why bother predicting anything a mere 180 (or is it 240) minutes before we'll know for a fact? Better to use the time to stock up on shill swill (do all Romanoffskis drink vodka?) or cheap Midwestern colored water sold as "beer" whose one-time advertising symbol is probably extinct (or am I thinking of the beer that made Milwaukee famous?) for the Bennetistas. Whatever. It's been a boring contest between two fundamentally boring candidates, neither of whom seems poised to accomplish very much, at least not in the next two years, and neither one of whom has offered any cool new ideas that I can remember.

Might as well settle back and watch Rome burn, watch the society fly apart, and yes, use the Senate as our soporific. Good night, Irene. (And yes, on this topic, that's a promise. Zzzzzzzz.)

It looks like someone has sore loser syndrome already
or is just grumpy that we won't have Romanoff to kick around tomorrow.

If you don't want to talk about politics on a primary day with record turnout then why in the hell are you reading political junkie taunts when your Gardenia beds need weeding?

Plenty of redundant drivel and nasty ad hominem attacks here - thankfully punctuated by the rare sign of an intelligent, educated, skeptical mind.

    Buck by 6: 53:47
    McInnis by 1: 50.5:49.5

Not a betting man, so don't care about the rest.
