As Chris Cillizza writes for CNN, Christie has absolutely no more fucks left to give:

On Friday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ordered beaches across the Garden State closed — a reaction to the ongoing budget impasse in the state’s legislature.

Less than 48 hours later, photos from NJ Advance Media showed Christie sunning himself with his family on Island Beach State Park — the only people on the beach because, well, the governor had closed it…

…But, wait! It gets worse! Way worse!

Turns out that after those photos were taken on Sunday, Christie took the state helicopter to Trenton for a press conference. At it, he was asked about staying at the beach while the beaches were shut down. “I didn’t get any sun today,” Christie responded.

When shown the pictures, a Christie spokesman — in what will be fast-tracked into the spin Hall of Fame — responded: “He did not get any sun. He had a baseball hat on.”

The “hat” defense! Epic. Absolutely epic.

Even FOX News and the Washington Times ripped into the former Republican Presidential candidate.

    I'd prefer to shy away from attacking a person's personal features – but he is despicable bully and, to quote FauxNews, everything that is wrong with politics today. He's deserving of every ounce of criticism thrown his way.

      I would definitely agree with you if it happened to be an immutable characteristic. I would not go after him if this were the result of some type of accident or a disability with which he was born (unlike You-Know-Who who would not hesitate to do so). But the only reason he is fat is because he won't lay off the donuts, or the cake, or the ice cream. Or exercise. Or some combination of the two.
      
      If there is one Republican in N.J. I feel a little (but not much) sorry for is Kim Guardano who is his Lt. Governor trying to take his place. She trying to put some distance between herself and Christie. (Good luck with that.)
      
      Most recent polls have her losing to the Democratic, Phillip Murphy, by something like 2 to 1 margin. BTW, Murphy is a Goldman Sachs alumni. (We will now pause as Zapatero's head explodes in outrage.)
      
      If V. were giving us weather reports from the Garden State, I imagine he would tell us that there is no way Guardano is going to avoid the Christie stench.
