  • by: Colorado Pols

You made your nominations and cast your votes, so now it’s time for the final runoff voting for Colorado Polster of the Months.

Just three candidates broke the 10% barrier in the early voting, so just three candidates are included in the final vote below. We’ll declare the winner on Monday morning.

Who is the Colorado Polster of the Month(s)?

    1. Me and Al Gore. We were Robbed, I tell ya, robbed! (I wonder if I lost the Cuban vote?) 🙂

I guess that means it’s time for me to grow a beard, get fat, and make a documentary on global warming. I’ve already knocked out the first two, and am (as we speak) writing a paper on energy regimes and environmentalism, so I guess I’m on my way.

        1. There’s no doubt that CT is the Bush to my Gore, and so gets none of my pre-music “thank you” time. But are you, RSB, my Ralph Nader, the former champion of consumer rights and legitimized leftist thought in America, turned egomaniacal spoiler? I knew there was something familiar looking about your facebook profile picture….

    2. First there was smallpox in the blankets, then there was lynching and the long, long battle for civil rights, and now Pols pulls this horseshit. Why do they hate America?

      1. It’s because when we went by our full name, “Amerigo Vespucci,” people couldn’t help but spit when they said it (go ahead, try it), and so spitting when saying “America” became an ingrained international habit.

        It’s one theory, anyway.

  1. as seems likely, is there another runoff between the top two candidates?

When infinitely many candidates split the vote last time, Steve pulled ahead. With fewer candidates, Twitty has a noticeable lead. But if RSB weren’t splitting the votes, would Steve be back on top?

    I WANT TO KNOW!

        1. I’ll be out on the campaign trail for the rest of the evening.

Is it too late for a fund-raiser?

          Stump speaches?

Promises to give everybody every government service they want, while cutting taxes, eliminating disease, and guaranteeing to those who vote for me (and only those who vote for me) that their children will be smart, good-looking and well-behaved?

          Bribes?

I got it! Breaking News: CT had an extramarital affair with an 8 year old illegal immigrant whose parents he (CT, you are a “he,” aren’t you?) employed to cover up his tax evasion and assistance to terrorists organizations (at whose training camps he spent time indoctrinating Arab youth into hatred of America).

        2. Lots of that around here lately — though, thankfully, not by any of the three esteemed finalists!

No, these contenders are making history.

I can’t wait for the acceptance speech, whoever wins.

          1. who voted in the primaries, but not yet in the general election. I’m pretty sure that all of them had voted for me (despite the apparent mathematical impossibility involved), but, who knows? Some might have suffered a head injury since then and changed their mind….  🙂

Where are the “get out the vote” people when you need them?

    1. I swear, it’s almost true.

Tuesday Sarasota voters went to the polls, all 20% of us, and voted Yes/No on a charter amendment to change the city commission and have an elected mayor, and pick two of the list of folks running for two at large commissioner seats.  That’s it.

The question of the elected mayor has been voted on twice before in thirteen years.  All three now have been “Hell, no!”  But the bidness and developer and real estate people keep trying to gain more control of the commission.

Oh, wait! Now a runoff election in May because no one got over 50% of the vote! I’m guessing even lower turnout since the mayor question was the hot one on Tuesday.

Could the charter possibly be logical and, you know, the top two vote getters are the new officials?

      Welcome to Florida.

    1. the Norm Coleman of this delicate situation? I hope not, because I voted for you, but I must say I have no respect for former Sen. Coleman. None. None whatsoever. Zilch.

  2. He’s the only one I’d vote for early.

Remember though, the poll on Pols said Polis wouldn’t win the primary…and he did.

So if you come in second, you actually possibly won really.
