outside of the event gates. The Charlotte Observer reported that crowd goers were breaking through the hedges and climbing low walls just to hear the speech.
for all those folks that waited around in the sun… he’s still more than 8 points down in the polls in NC.
Meanwhile, Palin draws 60,000 in a battleground State.
Jonathan Martin has the scoop:
It’s great that she’s such a celebrity she outdraws McCain and fires people up, but they don’t need to jazz the stats.
Fire Marshall’s word versus angry lefty AP reporter. I’ll go with the Fire Marshall.
🙂
or…
🙂
Have you ever met an AP reporter? Your paranoia is reaching new heights, LB.
Funny how the McCain campaign is always able to find a fire marshall whose crowd estimate is wildly larger than everyone else at an event.
And I estimate the Obama crowd at 200,000.
Are so silly about Palin. I love it.
Palin is yesterday’s news. We have real issues that require real leaders. Palin didn’t make the cut with the American people.
BTW, where is Palin?
from drawing so many more people than your Presidential candidate.
I love that it’s still so Obama vs. Palin for you guys. That’s a winner.
Considering your PRESIDENTIAL candidate coming on stage causes people to leave the rally.
Just put Palin on the top of the ticket, you know you want to.
It’s the only thing I’ve been excited about since Fred Thompson quit.
Until now I’ve been operating under ‘well, I have to vote for McCain because Obama simply can not win this election or we’re fucked’ but now I’m energized by the fact that she’s actually calling bullshit on a host of issues. I like the fact that she ran against a corrupt incumbent member of her own party. Obama has never demonstrated that he’s willing to piss off the entire Dem base like McCain has, and I think that’s at least a start to fix some of the bullshit that’s going on.
There are a lot of folks on this blog that could do a better job right now than Bush, Reid or Pelosi.
I’m sure there are some Dems that probably feel that way about Obama – not super enthused about him, but that ‘we’re fucked if McCain wins’.

And Rasmussen generally has a 1-2 point Republican lean, so take that for what you will.
