Polster Of The Week Vote

  • by: redstateblues

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

Financial meltdown; Obama in GJ, Pueblo and Golden; Palin in JeffCo; and (mostly) issue-driven discussion. The week that was 9/15-9/21.

Of course everyone contributed to the discussion–some more constructively than others–but of those nominated, who deserves the prestigious* title of Polster of the Week?

It’s sort of like American Idol, but with no Ryan Seacrest.

Voting closes at midnight Sunday. You decide after the break.

*actual prestige is minimal to none.

Who's it gonna be?

            1. Additionally you have the electronic Austrailian ballot via Pols to make that choice. 😉

What about thin union bosses? Hum, they may be thin in body mass like the boys from the SEIU. But gorging on those forced union dues make them all …. fat forced union dues bosses.

    1. You’ve written some excellent diaries that synthesize the news as well as anyone, and (perhaps most importantly) it would make OsborneOzzy’s head explode. And we shouldn’t be so Front Range-centric, you remind us of that nearly every day.

  1. though, I think you’ve taken the “week” thing a little too literally.  Our weeks last about 3-4 months.  🙂

Anyway, my vote is for redstateblues if for no other reason than the fact that you acted on my suggestion to have a PotW poll.  😛

  2. even considering you know my secret identity, and I yours … However, if nominated, I shall not run; If elected, I shall not serve. Seriously, hardly spent any time here the last month, so I’m throwing my vote to you, but only because Danny the Red won last time, Ewegen gets paid to do this, WLJ doesn’t post nearly enough, and I have a feeling Blue is an elected official. Newsie, LB and Libertard keep us all honest, but I haven’t seen much general-interest (as opposed to individual hobby horses) from you guys lately.

      1. and thanks redstateblues for not striking the nomination as nonresponsive …

I wondered if it was because I managed to insult both Jambalaya and UnbornBeth in the same afternoon.

    1. had the experience of meeting her, and engaging in a conversation that resembles these many blog exchanges, how would you react?

I can’t imagine myself hanging in there for long!

  3. Don’t answer that…

What a week.  I would be lying if I said I had a handle on all of it.  What I do know is I like Henry Paulson.  He appears to give the right tone of situation, which is important for all of us poor slugs that this financial mess is not at all clear.

I also like Michael Bloomberg – straight forward, knows his stuff. Today he said he has not endorsed a candidate yet, because he wants them to be open to hearing him on financial issues.  That is putting country first.

Who I did not like is guess who, John McCain.  In one week he called for firings and got mad at something.  He did exactly what military training teaches you not to do – make rash decisions without all the answers and a clear understanding of the situation.

And he was mad.  At what, exactly and at whom exactly, no one knows. But it is clear, John McCain was just mad.  “Man yells at cloud” to quote Keith Olbermann.

Leadership is presenting a calm face, not making decisions you will later regret and gather a complete understanding of a situation before you fire the wrong guy and leave yourself without the benefit of continuity of past and future actions.

McCain did not achieve balance this week.

BTW, thanx for your votes.  I post here because you all disagree, debate and discuss and call people names. I love that part. The name calling is my favorite – it really makes me laugh.  I guess the violent side is just taking over, since I am half Black. 🙂

  4. Libertad outpolled us. That’s gotta hurt.

Looks like WLJ is our winner. Congrats to her! She really does deserve it for keeping us aware of the McCain campaign’s constant, blatant lying.

  5. Danny is the real hero.

Do I get a wall plaque for the restaurant?

Seriously, you people make my life a little more fun! My family will only let me talk politics for about 20 minutes, before they are done with me.

But you guys can talk it all day everyday. Very cool.
