Winning The War on Spam (Knock on Wood)

Many readers are aware of a large uptick in the amount of spam blog posts to our site in recent weeks. Over the last week, we’ve installed new anti-spam countermeasure plugins for WordPress to replace older ones that weren’t supported anymore or just plain weren’t working anymore. We’re pleased to report that in the last few days, we’ve seen spam posts taper off to basically zero.

We are also monitoring these new plugins for reports of blocking or other trouble for our legitimate users. We’ve approved all such “whitelist” requests for users as they’ve come in, and we’ll continue to watch closely to ensure real humans can always make full use of the site. If you encounter such a block, please complete the whitelist request form that appears and we’ll take care of it. If you don’t see that happening fast enough, send us an email at webmaster@coloradopols.com and we’ll expedite it.
