ColoradoPols leads, the Daily Camera follows

So the last couple of days here we’ve had a bunch of news about the SD-18 race. And finally, this morning, the Daily Camera has caught up. I think this is one of the things that is really hurting newspapers, by the time it comes out in the paper it’s old news to anyone reading blogs.

But they are giving it good coverage today. Story 1 is Mud flies in state Senate race which is mostly the holier than thou Regina Cowles complaining that she wanted Cindy to do both less and more in the C.U. rape case.

In the newest charge, Cowles said Friday that she volunteered to run Carlisle’s campaign for regent, and grew frustrated that Carlisle and Kerr never disclosed the potential for a lawsuit against the university nor revealed to voters the conflict of interest it would pose.

“I found that to be in total and complete betrayal to not only me, but mostly to the voters,” said Cowles.

Cowles, who was president of the National Organization for Women’s Boulder chapter during the CU football recruiting scandal sparked by the lawsuit, said the alleged rape victims needed an advocate on the board, and Carlisle’s voice was absent.

Second we have Carlisle decries ‘win-at-all-costs’ political atmosphere which is a recap of the post Wanda placed here yesterday.

Shortly after the Sierra Club-sponsored debate Thursday night, Heath sent an e-mail apologizing andsaying: “I erroneously referenced Kerr-McGee when I should have said Pennzoil.”

And to be fair to old-media, Rich Valenty (Colorado Daily) had an excellent detailed article about the debate up the evening of the debate – Carlisle, Heath debate mostly civil To continue with the theme that there seems to be a million different statements as to exactly what was said when he has:

Carlisle later noted that the Kerr family that she married into is not tied to Kerr-McGee. After the debate, Heath and a supporter admitted that there was no family tie, but Heath said his point was that his past business associations should not have been relevant in this race, any more than a tie to Kerr-McGee would have been.
