Oops, um nope. Republican Senator Shawn Mitchell has a bright future in conservative Colorado politics and I was pleased to see this bill come forth.
Senate Bill 117, authored by Broomfield Republican Sen. Shawn Mitchell, would cap exorbitant permit fees charged by some cities for solar-system installations on homes and businesses. It won unanimous, bipartisan approval in the Senate today.
“It’s a sunny day for Colorado,” Mitchell said. “Not only does this bill bolster people’s choice for renewable energy, but it’s also good for the environment and pushes back government barriers and bureaucrats.”

Any list of the brain-dead cities that made this necessary?
House debate illuminated that not all of Sen. Mitchells party was behind this bill.
that said when you score a touchdown to act like you have been there before.
Why should we get all excited about Republicans acting responsibly towards the environment? Shouldn’t it be assumed that our government officials already understand the need to protect our land and water? Sadly for GOPpundit, doing the right thing regarding the environment has been so glaringly absent from the Republican agenda that he thinks any action on their part should be met with wild celebration. Dude if you score a touchdown act like you’ve been there before.
Probably 95% of what the politicians hear is people bitching. When we have a reason to compliment, we should do so. Especially when we can do so across the aisle.
you’re Doug Bruce and 95% of what he’s been hearing was in favor of his “illiterate peasant” line… 😛
Good point, Dave. We bash our politicians all the time…a little praise once in a while (even towards repubs) is a good thing.
