All Eyes on Colorado Today

Whoever thought two little letters could be so exciting?

As 5280 reports, the nation is watching to see how Referenda C&D turns out. Even the Wall Street Journal chimes in (registration required).

  1. Citizens of Colorado, today the eyes of the Nation are on YOU.

Will you vote yes for taxes believing you will benefit from a tax increase, or will you vote no, believing citizens can better spend their own money for the benefit of the economy.

Once a State crosses the threshold where more people vote believing taxes will benefit themselves and their cause there is no turning back.

  2. Real thoughtful – except that it assumes that funding of government services at any level would never be justified.  Most of us thoughtful conservatives understand that government, does in fact, have some role to play in a society.  We just believe that it should be relatively less.  I expect my government to show restraint – but I don’t wish to choke it into impotence.  If C fails – state taxpayers will not save money – services will simply shift to a user pays model.
