David Thielen for State and CD-2 Delegate – now all I need is some good music to play when the page loads (I know – not Russian pop).
So remember, vote for me – or the Republicans win…
But I still hope the Republicans win
Talk show host Peter Boyles had a pfd posted on his website last evening (marked “San Francisco”) in relation to the Voorhis case.
The pfd included a memo from Voorhis’ private investigator to another P.I. out in California. A case file was attached, which appeared from first reading to show that the basic accusations against Bill Ritter contained in that infamous Beauprez commercial were wrong.
I looked for it again today and it’s gone.
Come on Peter, fess up.
Here’s what I got:

You can believe all the bullshit from the right-wing media about how the surge has been a success….then again, there’s the reality on the ground.
IRAN
Reaping The Benefits Of Bush’s War
In a trip fraught with political meaning, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for a two-day visit. Ahmadinejad’s presence in Iraq was a major propaganda victory. Not only was it the first visit to Iraq by an Iranian leader since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, it was the first by any Middle East leader since the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime in 2003. The manner of Ahmadinejad’s arrival was striking. Unlike President Bush’s surprise appearances in Iraq, which are kept secret until the last minute, Ahmadinejad announced his trip weeks ago. While most foreign officials visiting Iraq normally travel by helicopter to avoid the dangerous airport highway, Ahmadinejad, after “descend[ing] the stairs of his presidential jet smiling and waving,” traveled by motorcade to the home of Iraqi President Jalal Talibani. There, in “Iraq’s first full state welcome for any leader since the US-led invasion,” the two men “clasped hands and exchanged traditional kisses on the cheeks before walking together down a red carpet to review an honor guard as a military band played the two national anthems.”
Another stunning example of foreighn policy success under Bush/Rice.

So, a nation secure enough that a head of a rival state (and it is a rival state to a large number of Iraqis) can travel freely, and the opening of diplomatic channels between neighbors and other nations are both BAD things now?
Brilliant!
You cool-aid drinkers like to compare Lincoln and Bush….ahem.
Lincoln raised and army to preserve a nation…Bush has severely strained and army to both destroy a nation (Iraq) and severly strain a nation (The U.S.)
Lincoln, when the British amasses 11,000 soldiers in Canada in response to the imprisonment of two confederate brithish diplomats said, “One war at a time” and quietly let them go. Bush…well Afghanistan wasn’t enough…he needed two wars and is aruguably losing both.
The Union did come very close to war with Great Britain but Lincoln was a more temperate man.
That fact is indisputable.
Chalabi was a key actor in leading the US into Iraq and he was a paid Iranian asset.
Saddam’s phantom WMD program was not for us it was a disinformation campaign directed at Iran. Saddam considered Iran his greatest threat and played his strategic game accordingly.
By removing Saddam, we elevated Iran. If you don’t think Iran is a problem for the US, then I guess your position makes sense. Amedinajad (don’t make me go look up the spelling) was bragging that people love him in Iraq and hate american soldiers and politicians which is a bit stronger than a simple “opening diplomatic channels”.
This was the reason Bush the Elder didn’t support the shia uprising after desert storm: because it would change the strategic map to the benefit of Iran. This calulation hasn’t changed in 15 years and was one of the key reasons why I opposed the Iraq war from the start.
is http://www.khow.com/cc-common/…
It is no longer posted on his website but I was able to recover the image. It is an “Investigation Memorandum” from John Blackburn to Anthony DiVirgilio. It is a long memo with many pages of documents and reads, in part:
“The documents you hoped I would find in the court file were not provided for me to review, if they were in fact in the file at all.”
So when will charges be filed against the campaign manager and media consultant for lying in the campaign ad. Others have been charged for smaller fabrications in mail and media. Its bad enough they illegally used the information, but then to ignore what was in it to make it fit the story is pretty bad. Beauprez owes Ritter and apology.
No wonder Boyles made it disappear. He should apologize too.
I’m not surprised he’s hiding documents. He will never admit that Cory is guilty.
Now he’s claiming anyone could find the stuff about Estrada-Medina in state records. Well, yeah, if you’re looking for Estrada-Medina. But the Beauprez campaign would have only known about Walter Ramo. Hey, Boyles, start with Ramo and see how far you get.
If Cory hadn’t told them, the Beauprez campaign would never have found anything about the crimes in CA. They wouldn’t have known to look for Estrada-Medina.
But Boyles either doesn’t know, doesn’t care or can’t be bothered to do any real work.
Got an email blast from Joe Whitcomb. He primarily talks about what he will be doing. Does ask for volunteers. And… does not ask for money. That stands out from all the others in a very good way.
Looking good…
I had lunch with Rollie Heath today – http://www.davidthielen.info/p…
He’s a very nice guy too.

I hope he wins it.
The fiscal mess and the intiative problem that largely led to it are the two problems that are existential to Colorado. You note he doesn’t have a back up plan, but at least he has a plan A. Plenty of people running for open seats don’t have an understanding that these 2 issues must be addressed for the legislature to be relevant.
