how many times can you run and lose.
Several people have lost their first attempt at an election to go on to win another seat later. Every election has its own dynamic. A few examples come to mind:
Beth McCann lost in the race for DA in 2004, then won for State House in 2008
Alice Borodkin lost in the race for Denver Election Commission in 1995 and then won for State House in 2000
John Kefalas lost in an State House race in 2004, to back and win the same seat in 2006.
Ramey Johnson and Gwyn Green handed their State House seat back and forth between them a couple of times if I remember correctly.
Sorry need to clarify. He also ran against Judy Montero for City Council and lost. Then for DPS borad. I understand candidates that lose first time out but how many different races does it take for someone to get the message.
Jose Silva dropped out of the race and offered his endorsement to Arturo Jimenez. So, technically he did not lose the race. In fact, he still reminds very involved with the community. Next time, when posting a comment, please do all your research before you post.
To set the record straight, I have never ran for city council check the records I supported a candidate that did run against Judy Montero. When I ran the 1st time for the school board I was a 23 year old senior in college who got nearly 10k votes…..not bad. I have been active in the community for over 17 years, its not like I choose to run and run but I am a product of DPS and felt I would offer the best solutions to the problems that currently affect our kids.
I am the candidate to beat in Distict 5, I will be mounting a strong, grassroots campaign that has support across the board and not just locally.

I have know Joe Silva (He just recently started going by Jose and I refuse to call him that.) for 15+ years and the guy is an all out con artist. Before, it didn’t matter because it wasn’t hurting anyone really. Let him tell his tall tales, whatever makes him feel better. But, I have to expose him for what he is. A liar, a thief and a cheater. I’m no one that is running for political office, just someone that doesn’t want my tax dollars, along with others that are hard working, to be in his control.
My children attend DPS, I am a product of DPS and unlike Joe, I really do have my degree. One that I earned, while working 2 jobs to support my family. Yes, he did attend DU, no he didn’t graduate. You don’t believe me? Go to degreechk.com and all it costs is $5.00. Doesn’t anyone do background checks before letting people run?
His last campaign in 2007, a few days before his “campaign fundraiser” at Munecas (high class establishment, mind you. wink wink) he had said he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to run. Still had the fund raiser, and wouldn’t you know it…the day after, dropped out but kept the money. WOW.
His excuse then, and always has been, his mom having cancer. What sick, individual, would lie about something like that? My grandmother is a cancer surivivor and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
Please, someone do some research. Make yourself aware. I will be attending all of the hearings, speeches, debates, etc.
I have known Joseph “Jose” G. Silva, for 17 years, and if you ExposetheFraud knew him for 15 years or more. You would of know that he has been using the name Jose Silva not Joe Silva, or Joseph Silva. He has been using Jose Silva since he was 14 years old after witnessing his best friends murder. Therefore, all of your facts are not factual. You have no factual information to back up your information of him being a liar, thief, and cheater. If you knew him for 15 plus years, you should of exposed him in first campaign in 2003 for the City wide election for the Denver Public school board well he was attending DU and again in 2007. If you wanted to check to see if he had his degree, you should of went to DU and asked for a letter stating that Jose did not receive his degree instead of using a website. I am very proud of you and what you have accomplished well working two jobs and received your degree. It should not matter where you hold your fundraiser events, as long as your community, friends and conglomerates support him. He used the money he raised to pay the overhead and other debt that came from his campaign. Finally in closing, bring family in this matter, is so unacceptable, but to correct you on this, his mother has tuberculosis not cancer. As for yourself, ExposetheFraud , please do your research and make sure you have factual information to back up your allegations.
What degree does this FAKE claim to have, because if it’s a degree you can receive in a week, I want one! JOE does NOT have a degree! If you know JOE the way I know him, telling the truth is NOT his specialty! Seriously! I’m not usually the one to rat, but if anyone wants to get together and share their “I GOT RIPPED OFF BY JOE” story, how about we meet at at his first debate and see what lie he comes up with. I am sure he will back out with a “great” excuse. WARNING; if someone is standing at the door collecting money to enter, it’s a scam! Probably set up by Joe himself. I’m sure no one exposed him in 2003 because they knew he’d back out of the campaign just in time…. right after he scammed everyone for money.
All I can say is that you are way out of touch. My record speaks for its self. Munecas is a community stable and Dolly might have issues with what you are saying. I smell a lawsuit. If you knew really knew me you would know all the work I have done. Your false allegations will not stop me from the work I do. I have come across many people has yourself and the Lord has taught me to turn and let you sit in your own hatred and dispair!
So Dolly runs a night club and also uses it as a place to house horses and such? Interesting. I think you meant “staple”. But then again you would know that since you’re a writing coach at Regis and all! Also, “I smell a lawsuit”? On what grounds? This is a public forum which allows everyone to exercise their freedom of speech. No one made any accusations against Dolly or Munecas. On top of that, it is an anonymous posting. Nice try though, you couldve made Frank Azars day with that!! The statements made against you are also true. You haven’t finished school, all you have to do is call DU and they’ll verify whether you graduated or not. Also, the website is a legitimate site. Denvrgov.org is another legitimate site. A site which shows that on July 19th, 2009 you were pulled over for no insurance, driving under restraint and driving without a license. This is public information people. I’m hoping to get in contact with the others that have posted to expose you once and for all. If you can’t follow simple laws, what makes you best suited for the position?

It seems it seems I’m not the only one to be upset over Joses desire to continuosly rob people of their hard earned money. I too know Joseph from middle and high school and it seems like somethings never change.
Joe is your typical con artist, always looking for a quick buck regardless of who it hurts.
He also ensures he is in the right place at the right time to get a little publicity. Don’t believe me?? He and a female friends scammed a way to get on the Jerry Springer show to get a free trip. Who does that and still expects to be taken seriously?
Also, all of the associations he has claimed to be a part of, false. Being at a rally does not mean you organized it. The mile high youth program you claim to run, doesn’t exist.
You have no chance of winning, that’s not what I’m worried about. Dr Thurn seems to be a stand up guy, judging by my research. A Dr (WITH a degree, not a cracker jack box degree. Just because you SAY you have a degree doesn’t make it so.) at Univ hospital, I too was there when you gave your resignation in 07. You took the money and went to DC.
There is no record of how much you raised or where it went. This is supposed to be public record.
