Time for Jeff Crank to step in and become a candidate.
http://www.gazette.c…
Draft Jeff Crank effort starts here. Let’s see how many people we can get to support draft effort for Jeff here on this open thread today!
No doubt about it. Lamborn is an embarrassment. Did anyone see his gambling donation he accepted from a gaming PAC on his latest FEC report? Lamborn is the biggest hypocrite to serve in Congress ever.
That’s where Abramoff, etc got their money from and we know what pure and honest conservatives they are.
As for Lamborn being the biggest hypocrite in Congress, that’s a tall order to fill. There’s current U.S. Senator David Vitter, former U.S. Rep. Duke Cunningham, former U.S. Rep. Bob Ney, former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, and former Majority Leader Tom Delay.
Lamborn is definitely a hypocrite, but I think he’s still in the minor leagues.
And, then, his fundraisers, The Rainmakers, were trying to get money from Tom Delay’s PAC in the 2006 primary. So, who’s surprised?
Lamborn is a complete joke. His days in Washington are numbered. The seat will be Crank’s for as long as he wants it.
But the thing I hate about Crank and other R candidates is that we can’t get a moderate. I want a candidate that is NOT endorsed by Focus on the Family.
He makes all Coloradans look bad. I’ve heard from Hill workers from other states how much their bosses and other Republicans members of Congress make fun of him and wonder how in the world he was ever elected.
….who elected Bush twice…well, OK, once in 2004.
Should IQ tests be part of voter registration?
They’ll take ANY candidate with an R after their name no matter how bad. That’s all that matters here. They had a choice between an intelligent well-articulated professional with military service, a plan for Iraq, and a seat on the Armed Services Committee… or, well… Doug.
Of course, we’ve seen lots of this over the last 27 years nation wide.
There was a good Onion “story” right after the 2004 election. Allegedly taking place in our own backyard in Erie, man who has lost his job at the screen door factory, living in a trailer, has no health insurance, his kid’s teeth rotting, but by God, his guns are safe because he voted for Bush.
Non Sequitar: “It does not follow.”
He’s a joke and I’m sure that in what few circles he’s known in Washington, he’s laughed at.
Rayburn’s ego cannot be stopped. We’re waiting-hoping-Crank pulls the trigger and runs but Rayburn is going to run no matter what. He should take his carpetbags and go home.
Don’t bother trying to talk Rayburn out of it. They better put together a plan to educate GOP primary voters that a vote for Rayburn is a vote for Lamborn.
Who then?
maybe MacEleney would run.
McElhaney would be a lot of fun to watch in a long and very public primary race. Nice guy but not terribly well-spoken – the amount of silly stuff he says during a session is pretty stagerring. He routinely gets schooled by JFG and Romanoff on the cable shows. His knowledge of issues is fairly shallow, not much beyond the boiler-plate talking points as far as I can tell.
Still, McElheney would probably look like Albert Einstein standing next to Lamborn in a debate.
Lamborn should just retire. For health reasons… To spend more time with his family… Or something. Save some dignity dude. Retire now, endorse Crank and let the healing begin.
Let’s see… I know a net increase of $29 sucks but maybe the cash on hand numbers paint a different picture of Mr. L.
Tancredo is out running for president and may not even run for his seat again so I would argue that his numbers are off. So that said our very own Mr. L is is HORRIBLE shape. The second lowest number is Musgrave with 236K on hand, nearly 5 times more than Lamborn. And the 50K on hand doesn’t mean much when – according to his filing – he owes more than 50K in various debts yet unpaid.
**Quick update on the Lamborn staff firings that are in progress… I am still confirming who is getting the hatchet and when I do I’ll post it.**
But, remember who his biggest supporters are? I do. However, whether you were being humorous or serious, it would be a wise thing for Lamborn. The opportunity for him to redeem himself locally is there if and only if he were to do something honorable like that. I’m not holding my breath, though.
Looking forward to the story on the staff firings. If God answers prayers, he’ll get rid of Hotaling, though not on his Congressional staff. That might start some healing!
As much as I may believe some of you righties are misguided, I don’t feel threatened by any of you. I find this situation very sad in many ways and reading the tea leaves show a lot of posturing in the near future. I hope we can all learn from this and move on, rather than regress back to our hardened stances.
If we meet down the road, please don’t introduce yourself as the Emperor, or else I will know it’s a conspiracy!
any chance he’s coming back to Colorado to run against Schaffer?
but this report on the resignation announcement paints his tenure as VA Director in an unflattering light due to lapses in veterans’ care. Not a good endorsement for an election campaign.
